defensive much amigo? Ironic that you call this guy whose No. 2 all time favorite fighter was barrera a ******* (my no. 1 being hearns. not pac, neither elorde). If you dont know hearns, let me tell you that he wasnt a Filipino though hes a nice guy.
Calderon is overall a relatively ordinary fighter. he's got no real offensive talent and would be overwhelmed if fighting a higher calibre of opponent. Mijares is better.
What the hell do Donaire, Banel, or Mijares have to do with pac, or being a pac hater? As for the thread, its Mijares for me.
Defensively, Calderon is the slightly more skilled boxer. Mijares however has considerably superior offensive skills. I go with Mijares, but Calderon is exceptional as well, to still be unbeaten with several elite level fighters on his resume even though he has absolutely no punch is a high mark of skill.
I think Calderon's leg movement is above Mijares. Mijares can be more stationary and make you miss while he is standing there as well as punching at the same time. Calderon is a master at landing punches that will score when you're exposed and then he moves out of the way and resets the process over and over again. Calderon is a bad ass he just isn't as exciting at Mijares. Both guys are just pure boxers to the max though.
What elite fighters? The best he has on his resume is Cazares, who's a B level at best. Mijares doesn't even hold a win over an 'elite' yet, though he's dominated several very good fighters.
