    Kessler
    Froch
    Ward
    Abraham
    Taylor
    Dirrell

I think Ward had an easier fight schedule. He will lose to Kessler. But I see him beating a shop worn Taylor (after his war with Abraham) and Ive always said he was better than Dirrell.

hate to say it but taylor's pretty much toast in any match up in the tourney. with him removed from the equation, i think abraham and ward might catch some serious beatings.

OK. So you are predicting 1,2,4 for the European fighters. I think Saurland put it together thinking 1,2,3. Look at the Americans involved. One faded, two prospects. He put this together to make HIS guys look good. (None of us knew Kessler was going to Saurland when this first leaked out). Taylor will do anything for money now and the two prospects are just all gah, gah over the chance.

theres a real argument for that.

but there are guys here he should dominate and it remians to be seen if taylor can step up.

this is pretty well his last shot after doing, literally, all the hard work against hopkins.

taylor has lost the most out of all of them but you could make a case that he has been against the toughest competition.

Ward to me i think could get bullied and reduced in this.

So which American smw would you have put in? Allan Green?

How hard must it have been to put this together, 2 sanctioning bodies and 5 promoters involved. I think you have to give nothing but credit for this being organised, no way you can try and spin this into all 6 fighters are ducking pavlik!

Everyone else on this thread is excited to see the tourney and the only negative comments seem to be coming from the pavlik fans. It would have been even better if pav and bute were involved but we don't know what it would have taken to orgainse that and tbh i think if arum is involved this wouldn't have happened.

Don't get me wrong i like kelly and would have given him a decent shot at winning if involved but he isn't so stop looking at it from a pav fans angle and enjoy one of the best things to happen in boxing in living memory!

And on the flip side if kelly wants to move up in a year or 2 there is a clear no.1 guy for him to fight then!

in terms of health, I see potentially bad things happening for Taylor (the obvious) and Dirrell.

WTF are you on about. Knowing Saurland was signing Kessler when putting this together makes it obvious what Saurland is doing. Pavlik has nothing to do with this. Bute should. Perhaps Andrade? Both have proven more at 168 than the Andre twins. What is Taylor's record at SMW now? 1 - 2? No? You missed my point that this could turn exciting? It will take Taylor or the Andre twins to fight above expectations. Could happen, but I'm sure Saurland has sat down and looked at this carefully. He hopes his boys do 1/2 but will take 1/3. Kessler makes up for lost time and Abraham gets 'names' at 168 right out of the gate. Personally, I think he finishes in the bottom half though.

I am not sure i get this bit, are you saying it could get exciting or that in order to get exciting they would need to overperform?

If your point is the 3 europeans prob start as favourites i would agree, so what?

It is obv what saurland has done, given us potentially 12 good fights in a hot division meaning we don't have to suffer through mandos and cherry picked voluntary defences. Of course he thinks his fighter have a good chance of winning what idiot promoter puts his top fighters in positions where he thinks they have no chance of winning?

Like you said Kess comes off his inactivity into big fights and AA gets names right out the gate. This is a risk then no? Not the actions of the full of **** promoter that would never let AA near a live body then?

What i am saying is stop worrying about saurlands intentions or that this stops us seeing pav AA liek we all wanted (think it had become obv there wasn't enough money there to satisfy both parties so not gonna happen yet) and just be a boxing fan. This is one of the best thing goings on in boxing right now.

Its not perfect, we'd all have liked to see bute and andrade in, but lets just enjoy it for what it is - top fighters in one of the hottest divisions squaring off and providing a bit of clarity around who is no.1 in the divison. Tourney winner faces bute/andrade and all becomes crystal (assuming no-one new comes along in meantime)

anyhow gotta go to bed now, 1.20 AM here and at work in morning

i don't believe this getting ruined thing

I think Direll and Taylor or Abraham will be out in the first round.

Froch and Abraham or Taylor will lose the semis.

Kessler will beat Ward in the final

dirrel does not belong in this group.

as far as AA getting ktfo out forget it. he can take it better than any of the others in this tournament.

Yep, that's what I was going to say. Although I hate to say it, Jermain is already more or less damaged goods. I hope he proves me wrong though. So apart from Taylor, my pick would be Froch. :yep
