Yeah it is a little, but it's only his 5th pro fight. The amount of names that were approached to face Mostyn, only to be turned down were amazing. A real eye opener, put it that way.
No, not really. Looked at footage and asked for double. What can you do? It's a bit bizarre in the first place, when it was his team who contacted us, so you'd think they'd have done their homework to begin with.
Fair call. A promising start to a career can be a curse as far as getting match-ups. I remember Serge Yannick beating Wayne Parker Jnr in his first pro outing and nobody wanted to fight him after that.
Agreed, it's much the same here. Some very well credentialed boxers were approached, but politely declined. One asked for an exorbitant amount of coin, for what is just a 6 round undercard fight. King will give him a look at a paw for the first time as a professional.
been in similar situation with Bobby Antonkos, was initally contacted but once they seen video tape they dont want to fight. Thats boxing in Australia.
but in all seriousness hopefully mostyn gets a few rounds under his belt and puts on another good performance, very enjoyable guy to watch
damn. His record on boxrec 4 wins 4 KO's and 1 loss looks better than King's. Would have been a fun action packed fight.
King's is 5-2 (2KO)... not a great deal of difference. A little disappointing, but not much could be done. Mangum got whacked last outing anyway.
