No, they can also get stripped long before you unify. I mean one could say Sergio was halfway there after beating Pavlik, but now Zbik and Pirog are walking around with his belts. Does Martinez need to beat them too, or does he just have to fight Sturm and Sylvester in your view?

 

He should get a shot at Mayweather and realistically speaking it is more realistic than a Pac bout. Remember Arum and HBO are not friends...... Mayweather is not with Top Rank and is still friends with HBO, also HBO has a crush on Sergio Martinez right now, so they are willing to put money up for him....and I am more than positive that Martinez and his camp would agree to all of Mayweathers stipulations from Drug Tests to purse splits..........

IMO, Martinez needs to beat Pirog and Zbik to become the Undiputed World Middleweight Champion and he doesn't have to worry about being given the orders by those alphabetical boxing organizations to defend his World titles. If those belts get stripped, Martinez can become what we call "People Champion." He then can go on to establish his legacy and make history for his own. :happy
