who is next for Martinez?

In a perfect world. I would love to see him against Pirog. That's the 4th fight I want to see the most right about now.

 

Who's next? I just want to see him fight for free on HBO. K9, Cintron, hell..go ahead and finish off Paul Williams..

 

If he does fight in July then that only leaves him so many options. With Pavlik moving up in weight then that fight isn't happening anytime soon if it ever happens again. Sturm won't ever take another challenge again as long as he keeps getting good money and ratings doing what he's doing. Williams is fighting in June, Cotto in July, and Kirkland, Lemiuex, and Jacobs aren't quite ready at this point. Angulo, who knows when he fights again and noone is really interested in a Cintron rematch.

I think there are probably three leading candidates right now. I think Andy Lee could get a shot. There was talk before of this fight happening and with Lee in an exciting fight on the undercard he becomes a possiblity. Pirog is a fight fans want, has a title, and could probably be gotten at a good price so he is probably on the short list. I also think Winky Wright could be an opponent. He still has name value and was going to fight in April so he' been in the gym recently. I don't want to see a Martinez-Winky fight but thats never stopped HBO before.
