That's a good point on Taylor's potential with a better trainer, but I think you're overrating his power just a tad. If he had heavier hands, you'd have seen alot more KO's out of him and you'd have seen JCC's face look alot worse than it did, and Mel probably possibly would've stopped him. For all the punches Meldrick landed on him, JCC's face looked, dare I say, damn near fresh compared to other beatings he took in his career. Not that that's a knock on Taylor at all. When you've got handspeed like that and throw combinations like that, it's always going to be more machine gun than bazooka, if you get my drift.
P4P I'd go with Ali/Clay. Tyson was very fast @ heavyweight but Ali's punches were much longer which made his speed amazing to me. Hlomes vs. Marvis Frazier looked blinding to me. I only saw the fight once, live on TV way back when.
Meldrick Taylor had the fastest hands I've seen sometimes it looked like a blur Camacho is a close second even now his handspeed is amazing this vid was recorded a couple years ago. [yt]tQkPQoxtI5M&feature=related[/yt]
against liakovich that first counter right hand in the last roudn was supremly fast. briggs if i remember was seen as having the fastest hands in the division at one point. most of us were sayin ghe was the top 2 fighter at the time which i find remarkable but at the time pretty just. i will say meldrick taylor, miketyson, jab zudah (i was goign to edit that but thats pretty fuuny),hector comacho, floyd patterson, muhammad ali, floyd mayweather, chris byrd, terry norris, roy jones. who was that korean called the hawk...he was light fly or straw
i dont want to steal the thread but a fighter who has a good handspeed r above average is tony booth.
I don't know who Tony Booth is, but I will check him out on the internet. Camacho's speed was very accurate with his combos also. He actually never put too much on his punches, but he indeed had some pop in his punches. At 130 when he dropped Limon, Ramariz, and remember Haugen. He did not seem to like to commit with his power.
