I voted Crawford back when the poll was made but I think I am changing to Inoue because Crawford didn't fight anymore while Inoue did.

Yeah I'm now leaning towards Inoue now as with the Tapales win he's matched Crawford's achievement of being undisputed in 2 weight divisions but also is a 4 weight world champion while Crawford is only a 3 weight world champion.

I went Crawford when I voted, but tbh I think I'm changing my mind.

Not only has Inoue just knocked out, in back to back fights, the top two in a higher division, he's spent 9 consecutive years as the top ranked boxer in his division.

That's a very long time, especially considering he is in the lower weights.

His light flyweight reign was overshadowed by Nietes, and rightly so. I'm not sure why the two weren't able to unify back then.

But he then moved up and knocked out Narvaez and since then he's been the highest ranked boxer in any division he's competed it. That's tremendous.

To put into context, Crawford became number 1 LW the same year Inoue became number 1 SFLW, the difference is every time Inoue moved up he knocked out the number 1, Crawford didn't do that. It took him 5 years to face the best WW in the world once he entered the division.

Inoue gets it done. He's the best boxer in the world right now.

    Vote changed.

It’s still Crawford his win supersedes any win in 2023 and even all of Inoues victories

    #4 p4p

Fulton and Tapales were nowhere near even top 20

The Spence win is better than any single win Inoue has and that's coming from someone who never rated Spence highly. That's really the only argument Crawford has right now to being ranked above Inoue.

But if next year Inoue does what he plans and beats Nery and Akhmadaliev with perhaps Goodman as well and Crawford only rematches Spence then I don't think Crawford has any argument to be above Inoue even if he still has a better win as Inoue would have had a far better year. But of course if Crawford gets Canelo as he hopes and wins then nothing Inoue can do will really matter and Bud will be P4P number 1 until he probably retires.

Beating Spence was quality, no doubt about it.

But Inoue has knocked out the top two fighters in the division above, both who were unified titlist. For me that trumps it.

Beterbiev, like Spence was, is a three-belt unified champion but he's only broken into the P4P top 10 once IIRC and he wasn't ranked anywhere near the top 5 like Spence. Difference is even this old version of him is a much better fighter than Spence and would brutally KO him early if they were the same size.

But imagine Beterbiev's resume consisted of cleaning out 175 of all its career 168 pounders, most of whom being featherfists or average punchers at best, who moved up and he only fought two career 175 pounder world champs in his entire career? That's what Spence did at 147 only obviously vs career 140s and blown up 135 Mikey.

And even worse he struggled badly against the only two career 147 pounder world champs he beat even though one of them was coming off a terrible eye injury, gruesome surgery to repair it, and a stoppage loss and a bad beating. He looked great against all those career 140s and blown up 135 Mikey, but not so much against the only two career 147 champs he fought.

I'm not saying Spence isn't a good fighter. He is but no way in hell should he ever have been ranked near the top 5 P4P.

if i remember right he was only just moving up because loma and canelo had lost and ring were shafting estrada, it wasnt even his own work. just better fighters losing to other great fighters, who are probably better than spence in their own right

Yeah probably a case of that too.

I think and hope this is all correct

The Ring had him ranked top 10 after beating Brook and he's been ranked in their top 10 ever since. He moved up from #10 to #8 without winning a fight and then up to #7 after registering another win. They subsequently moved him back down to #8, #9, #10 but then he shot all the way up to #5 and was never ranked below #5 or #6 after that and they had him #4 from May 2022 until he lost to Crawford. They currently have him #7
