Do you think his management and trainers are aware of his limitations on the world level and they are intentionally steering clear of the better opponents- or is it Wilder himself who asks for these third/second-tier opponents, one after another

The guy has so many fights and is in his early 30s and it's still not fought but one remotely known opponent

I somehow doubt even wilder believes all of the trash talking cocky nonsense he constantly records himself saying-- if he was that confident he would make his managers put him in with top-tier opponents to prove how good he is It's not like he's 22 years old and just now coming up, his career will be winding down shortly due to age lol

I don't think he himself believes the cocky, overly confident mouthing

His hair is a living organism that has built a stem system into his neural pathway and has taken control of him. He cannot be blamed for what he says.

    $$$

He always trys to promote himself and keeps fighting stiffs

He knows when he steps up he will get beat. For now he will keep letting them paydays roll in before cashing out.

Then will claim he was great because he only lost when he retired...

We are quite harsh on alot of champions for their opposition (e.g Canelo GGG) but really the men we should target are the likes of Wilder. What a total bum beater.

AJ beat the same guys easier, earlier and stepped us faster. AJ won't even fight the bums Wilder is feasting on because it's embarrasing.

Brezealle, Stiverne or worse are not acceptable. Why can't he fight Parker next? That fight should be a breeze to make for the end of this year.

America really needed a HW champ.
His team knew this when they found this huge athletic guy who wanted to become a boxer.
Wilder is a project. Very carefully built.

If the US would've had a better HW boxer, Deontay would've already fought the best in HW's available in less than 25 fights. But since there isnt, they have to bid their time until they cash out for the largest sum they could get. That 0 is very important when they gonna sit at the negotiations table.

Wilder has stronger plot shields than Captain Kirk.

It's annoying. He's pretty much irrelevant now, things have moved on in the last couple of years with Wilder, people have run out of patience with him.

How did this guy learn how to use a computer?

Wilder Vs AJ,parker, fury, bellew is a fight everybody wants to see. Wilder is one of the most relevant HW's today, what the hell are you talking about?

    The opposition.

Wlad has the Wilder fight right now if he wants it. The WBC want him to take it by ranking him #2.

If its such an easy fight whats stopping him? He has always wanted that green belt.

This is what he said when Stiverne was WBC champ

I think there's complicity on all sides.

I used to think it was his management team, but even the most protected fighters eventually get their wish if they try hard enough. Wilder has said nothing about being held back nor made any steps towards altering the dynamic, which can only lead me to think that he's quite ok with the situation the way it is. He's also consistently failed to call out guys when they've been available and in a position to make the fights happen, preferring to do so once the time has passed or through minor media outlets like Twitter and Instagram. That can't just be his team pulling his strings.

As time has passed it's become increasingly obvious to me that Wilder is just a poseur with delusions of grandeur, though how much of that is due to him and how much down to the people he hangs around with and who no doubt booster his inflated ego I don't know. I'm not even sure you can separate it at this stage. Wilder's living in a complete bubble and has been for years, though the constant criticism he's now getting from all sides appears to finally be making itself felt, resulting in Wilder's increasingly off the wall behaviour.

I see what you mean, but it's clear he's not in a rush to fight a top opponent. I think people have run out of patience with him, he lacks any kind of skill and simply relies on power and athleticism to win fights. I suppose in some way he is relevant but only because he has a belt. Once he loses that belt to anyone he will likely be forgotten by most.

Once Wilder loses his belt and 0 (which could come at any time really) he just becomes another Broner.
