I need some convincing....My head says Margarito late TKO, my gut says the kid from South Carolina will be the new champ....

What if the Margarito that showed up against Clottey shows up? Does it matter? Or is Williams still too green? Who's chin is going to hold up better?

Anyway my head is telling me Margarito TKO 11 Williams
But for some reason I am thinking Williams TKO 9 in my gut....

Somebody convince me one way or the other...

yeah but in margo's defense he did have some ankle and shoulder trouble going into that fight, but before clottey got injured i thought he was going to win in a route if not catch him late.

Williams, albeit skillfull, is still a bit green. Margo, is there to be hit and throws wide looping punches. However, has alot more experience.

Sorry bud, it's close to 50/50. I want Williams to win, but I'm thinking Margo SD.

    I'm leaning towards Williams.

You might change the thread title as its on 7-14 not this weekend.

This week is Klitschko vs Brewster and Simms vs Alcine:good

Possibly:good This is a very close matchup IMO. Williams could out-box Marg or Marg will over power Williams.

Hats off to the winner who takes a MAJOR STEP forward in the chaMPIONSHIP equation at 47:yep

    :good

I just don't like the way Williams doesn't always use his height combined with his lack of defense. Against Margarito, I see him getting out-muscled and beat up on the inside by a guy with more power and a better chin. If Williams has improved his jab, defense, and ring generalship, he can win this fight, but until I see that, Margarito by UD is my pick.

Williams corner will be throwing the towel in the 11th round.... Williams is a freak, 100 plus punches a round with a great chin, but this will really show how much of a bad ass the Mexican really is.

If he has a chin he will win. his high workrate is amazing and fun to watch. Im taking Williams. Honestly Im more intrigued by a Cotto/Williams fight than Cotto/Margorito

I'm not sold on williams, he just takes too many punches, I don't think he has that much power and looks very raw...
I say Margo ko's him in the middle rounds or late in the fight.

Still not sold on Williams. But if he pulls the upset, he gets my respect.
