On one hand, Floyd was the #1 when he left the sport and just won nearly every second of the guy who twice went even with Pac, the other arguable #1 p4p. On the other hand, Floyd has a size advantage over JMM, making the "Floyd beat JMM but Pac didn't convincingly" comparison skewed..... so how do you see it?
Ive always said that the Mayweather that left the sport in dec 07 (beating Hatton) would never have been knocked off top spot despite Pac`s achievements because he was just too good... after seeing him vs JMM, he looks every bit as sharp & good as he was 2 yrs ago so the logical choice for me is to say FMJ is the no1 p4p since he looks like the exact same fighter that left as no1. In reality tho, we need a Mayweather-Pac h2h p4p clash to make things less disputable.
PAC at the moment. His performance was masterful but expected. JMM wasn't ever in the fight from the time the fight was made. Only b/c no one knew how well he'd carry the weight up at 144. Obviously hindsight is 20/20 and now we know that at 144 JMM doesn't belong. At any weight I'd favor Floyd, based on talent level and styles. But on an even playing field I could gurantee JMM wouldn't have been dominated like he was this past Saturday.
I love you guys. The hate for Floyd is overwhelming. He's the best, just get used to the idea. We're not dumb, we can just see what is so. It's nothing personal, but FMJ will kill Pac and probably send him to the hospital, and you'll still say he's #1? If Marquez could hit Pac, then you know damn well Floyd will. It will be a good fight, but Floyd will win convincingly. When this happens, are you prepared to apologize for your ignorance?
Pac. It's about style guys. People give Floyd so much credit for beating JMM so easily, yet quickly forget how much easier Pac beat both DLH and Hatton than Floyd did. It's all about styles. Pac is #1 pd 4 pd because he has earned it. Floyd coming back and beating a too small JMM isn't going to rip it back from him. Floyd is at welterweight and needs to be fighting the top welterweights. Not the top Featherweights.
who deserves it better? 1... an exceptionally skilled boxer who slacked off in the last few years or a physicially gifted fighter who actually fought n challenge himself 3 times a year? 2... a boxer dominating boxers 1 or 2 weight classes below him or a fighter dominating boxers 1 or 2 weight classes above him? 3... a bigger boxer who floored and dominated a bloated 36yo marquez in 12 rounds or a smaller upcoming fighter who floored 3 times and drawed marquez in his prime at his best weight at 126?
