Who is the best American heavyweight right now?

Between those four, this is how I'd rank them as well:

Thompson
Arreola
Jennings
Wilder

 

Thompson, he has the most experience and is a smart fighter. If he fought Klitschko again then he would give him a harder time than the 1st fight.

I think he's worse now as the 2nd time they met, and a 3rd encounter wouldn't even go 4 whole rounds.

 

He quit in the second fight, the problem with Thompson was his pacing and stamina but he's much better with that now. He would be more hesitant in a 3rd fight and would force Wladimir to get frustrated, he wouldn't beat him but he would give Wladimir more problems.

 

He's half Irish

The loss to Pulev aside he has beaten Price twice, and Solis who was in many peoples top 10.
No one else born on US soil in this poll has done as much.

1. Tony Thompson (Yes, the long toothed Tiger. Look at his last five fights. Lost to the most Dominate HW champ of the last decade, went the distance with number one contender, whupped Price twice and beat Solis) :!: :bbb

2. Arreola (Destroyed Mitchell in one round, kept fighting Stiverne with a broken nose. I think people under estimate his heart and he learned a lot from the lesson he got from Vitali and now trains like a pro) :thumbsup

3. Banks (Easily beat Mitchell and had him beat in the rematch but let him get away. Been Wlad's sparring partner forever and was close student of Emanuel Steward for over a decade) :hi:

4. Jennings (Looks fundamentally sound to me) :hat

5. Cunningham (Put Fury on his back. Fury won that fight with more dirty tactics than the inmate football team in the movie "The longest Yard" :twisted:

very interesting to see how Mansour does against Cunningham.

That should show if hes the real deal or not.

 

Clearly a vote for Tony T, no-one in American HW div taking on that level of competition with comparable success. Silly to think that he's earned a 3rd tilt at Wlad before any other American HW came as close.
Hopefully HW fighters from across the pond (Canada and Mexico inc.) can stand up and be counted in the division in the coming years.....

At least between the other nine it actually is relatively close.

 

Jennings for me. Very cool head very fundamentally sound. Can box and go toe to toe if need be, but never rushes a ko. Not a huge puncher, but he fights like a champ, breaking guys down, doesn't get lazy tryin to ko fighters with one punch. He goes to work on them.

 

It's between Thompson, Jennings and Cunningham. I voted Thompson. A few years from now it will probably be Jennings...

 

This. I think Kauffman or an associate of his may be posting on a few accounts. One guy on here I think JoshPage or something like that talks about Kauffman nonstop, like I said either Kauffman or an associate, or a troll.
