am and pro fights over the past 3 years that i have seen of him. his style is almost influencer boxing level technique. athletic, commited and slips well. no question in this game for the right reasons but the 'US Heavywieght' of my lifetime. the 6'5, 230, huge long jab. big cross and can mix up on the inside. Torrez jr fights like a tiktok version of Joe Hipp (again, ready to be surprised. I've totally lost confidence in my ability recognise good or bad tech/skills after Barthelmy became 2 weight world champion)
You keep mentioning Joshua Edwards, are you related to him or friends with him or something? Because the delusion in your posts is insane. And all the proof is in videos of his fights. He's terrible! And he's far too small for heavyweight, and he has no power - which for a heavyweight is suicide. He will do absolutely nothing in the pro heavyweight division, quote me on it.
Theres 66 pro HWs out of the UK currently, the US has 333 (which is almost a quarter of all pro HWs on the planet). Per capita wise the US and UK are pretty much in line with each other in terms of the amount of HWs they're producing out of the overall population. The British HWs are just better. The US has two sports (American football and basketball) that take the majority of the HW athletes in the country. The UK has two sports (rugby union and rugby league) that take the majority of HW athletes in the country. Same boat. All the excuse making for American HWs being **** now is funny. I remember back in the day one of the excuses for declining American success in boxing was the rise of MMA, now after the UFC started expanding internationally in the space of like a decade Americans have been completely pushed to the sidelines there too. The best HW in MMA is.........British, lol.
Been a waste land for many years with Wilder, Ruiz Jr and Hunter being the best of this era, which is sad when you consider the history America has in the heavyweight division. But you can't neglect the grass roots of the sport without a cost further down the line and were seeing this in the lack of amateur success and the lack of good heavyweights. Even in the other divisions while US still do very well, they are no longer the dominant force they once were and it's likely to only to get worse.
haha.! It's a really pathetic EXCUSE that has been debunked and laughed at over and over. All countries have sports more popular than Boxing for big guys, yet no other countries make this excuse. USA has far more current heavyweights than any other countries, the best gyms, the best trainers, the best promoters, the most money in boxing, the country with the most televised shows etc. Everything is laid out on a plate for them to succeed And most important, being a boxer/being a fighter is a totally different attribute to being a basketball player or whatever. A fighting man and a ball bouncing man is two completely different things. Most of these other sports guys won't know how to fight and won't want to fight. Being good at one thing certainly doesn't mean you'll be good at something completely different. Pro Boxing got more global. And USA heavyweights weren't good enough. And the excuses became hilarious.
America will just have to be content with all these hypothetical heavyweight champions maybe Suleiman could make Lebron James a special WBC belt
I watched him versus Jalolov before the Olympics. And his fight with Lenzi at the Olympics where he lost in his first fight. In both fights he was completely unimpressive. He's like a smaller, even worse version of Malik Scott
Well I thought he lost fair and square, as did others against Lenzi so certainly not everyone. And his performance against Jalolov was pathetic, he was just trying to survive and not risk anything, was completely out of his depth. I searched your posts and 'Edwards' and see you've been delusionaly hyping this bum for years. Tell your friend Joshua I said Hi
Looking at the boxrec american ratings now . I'd say the only divisions USA are good at right now are Lightweight and Light Welterweight They are just as poor at Middleweight, Light Middleweight (apart from Crawford), and Welterweight..... as they are at Heavyweight,
Yep. Like I said above the same phenomenon happened at an accelerated pace in MMA. The UFC used to be considered American as apple pie in the 00s. Then MMA started growing internationally and the UFC started casting their net wider and within a decade America became just another country in the sport. They literally have a quota to keep 50% of the roster American and often give unearned opportunities to American fighters to try and offset it.
First I wanna say that Anderson previous to this humbling experience was not the best American HW anyway.............. Original question: I really wanna say Michael Hunter is, but I'm not sure he is prime anymore. Health issues and all..............Probably Jarrell Miller. I don't know why Guidry, Chaney or Shaw are even being mentioned, Torrez ain't did nothing yet. Honestly we probably won't have any real legit guys aiming for a title until Joshua Edwards
