If you're going to be pedantic about it, at least get it right. Any ****ing weight that is over 140 and at most 147 is categorized a welterweight. Does Cotto weighing in at 145 nullify the welterweight bout classification? Or are you just itching to snipe with anything to deviate from the fact that Floyd's record at welterweight is anything but impressive? Go ahead, argue how in hell Mitchell, Judah, Baldomir, Hatton & Marquez is in any way even remotely better than DLH, Cotto and Clottey? :nut
Cotto weighed 146 for many of his previous bouts, including the one prior against Clottey. It was 1 ****ing LB. Stfu about it already. He said he felt great at the weight. Pac is the best welterweight imo. His dominations of Cotto, Clottey, and DLH are far and away better then anything Floyd has accomplished at welter. Shane is a close second.
147 is the welterweight LIMIT. they had a contractual agreement for 145lbs, so it's still classed as a welterweight fight. In all honesty i think Floyd's the best at 147lbs. Going on their records, fair enough Floyd has fought a blown up JMM, dragged Hatton upto 147, and his only "credible" welterweight was Baldomir, but you can argue Pacquiao's only credible win was against a "damaged" Cotto. People can argue all they want, opinion is opinion and mine is Floyd = #1 @ 147lbs
How is Shane Molsey the best @ 147 when he is about to lose every second of every round against Floyd Mayweather Jr., if not getting stopped late?
I was surprised by how low Mosley was rated.:huh Floyd's resume at welterweight > a traumatized Cotto. Now put in Clottey who ****ing lost to Baldomir. The same Clottey who wasn't even there to fight. Cotto '45.:nut
its close between Pac and PBF. The winner of Mosley/PBF against Pacquiao will determine the best WW in the world.
Because I couldn't disagree more. Cotto is past it. People cling to Cotto similar to the way people cling to Jermain Taylor, and I think there are many good comparisons between the two. The general public is usually at least a year late on realizing when a popular fighter is shot. Furthermore, Berto is undefeated and FAR underrated on this site. He is far from shot, but rather, in his prime. No way in hell Berto gets smacked around that bad by Pacquiao (win or lose), and no way in hell Berto lets Clottey make it anywhere near a close fight. Let it go.
