LOL, almost every thread says something about Cotto or hatton around here so whats that tell you about favortism? lets say the last 25 years ? Julio cesar Chavez hands down was the best as he used it effectively against every opponent he fought including the superfight's! #2 would have to got Mike"the body snatcher" McCallum #3 Mike Tyson #4 Humbert "Chiquita" Gonzales #5 Johnny Tapia are in my book because of how well they used the body attack in big fight's and won!:bbb

Chavez was still doing it in '92. He was probable tops in this area.

Whitaker also liked to put his hands on your body. He was not Chavez, but he deserves a mention in going to the body.

Cotto gotta be right up there with Chavez IMO.. Also Floyd is very underrated in body punching.. He doesnt punch the hardest in the body but hes very effective at doing it especially with that sharp little jab.. Just watch his fight with Corrales and you'll see what I'm talking about.

when mayweather fought corrales, Diego had many problems going into the fight,he was on the verge of going to jail, having many issues making weight(that obvious cause' no fighter gets knocked down 7X and keeps getting up likt that,it is a sign of being really weak, more then likely from rapid weight loss) what about the that JL Castillo used a body attack against mayweather in their first fight to keep him from dancing around and you know hoe most people and 95% of the boxing experts feel about that fight?castillo should have won! then what about James Toney,Holyfield,Roy jones jr., Juilan "the hawk" Jackson, Ricardo Lopez,Michael carbajal,Tito trinindad,Tony"the tiger" lopez,John-john molina, edwin "chapo" rosario, and matthew Hilton?:think

Hey bozo we are not talking about one fight, mayweather uses that shot in all of his fights. And it is not the hardest but effective. He broke guys down with it over time. The hardest shots floyd landedon gatti were the body shots. The head shots gatti could take. As said, Floyd is dependent upon his body attack as all the fighters mentioned. He was bending ODH in half with it as well. Koed Mitchell with that shot(he is chinny but I dont think gutty..new term.lol) anyway. Floyd is one of the most effective body punchers and Castillos body attack did nothing to hurt floyds stamina..b/c WHO FINISHED THE FIGHT STRONGER....I suggest you watch rounds 10-12 again..get a touch up.

At the moment it's all about Floyd, Miguel and Ricky. Their body attacks are world class when they are on form.

Floyd isn't a bodypuncher. I've never seen him hurt anyone to the body or stop anyone. That jab to the body is a worthless shot that does nothing. If you're not hooking to the body you're doing nothing.

He stopped Mitchell with a body shot, in his first fight at 147.

Obviously you don't know ANYTHING about boxing.. That "worthless" jab to the body takes alot of energy away from a person.. Why do you think the boxers try to block it? if it did nothing they wouldnt even bother tryin to block it.. And go watch Oscars fights when flodyd sr was training him.. he was doing the exact same thing jabbin to the body copying off PBF.
