Who is the best Boxer on the planet right now?

Well who do you think is the best at this time?

Because if we're talking about "the strongest boxer on the planet" this place goes automatically to an heavyweight.

I don't know. Like many others, Floyd, Ward, Rigo.

 

Doesn't it annoy anyone that the 2 'best' fighters on the planet have about 3 hours of actual boxing between them in about 2 years....? Hardly poster boys for the sport.

 

Rigo was great against Donaire but was hurt and troubled by lesser fighters so to proclaim him best h2h fighter is a big stretch. Fighters like Floyd, Ward and Roman Gonzales have fought many variety of styles and showed to be very effective!

Ward was hurt by lesser fighters as well. Floyd has only fought fighters he knows he can beat easily, and he was hurt by Corley, old Mosley, and Judah. Gonzales is alright but hasn't fought enough challenges and wasn't exactly dominant against Estrada.

Rigo, Ward, and Floyd are the top 3 no doubt, but all of them have vulnerability problems. However, those haven't cost them yet. I go with Rigo because if he was the size of Ward or Mayweather I would favor him against them.

 

I think Rigo needs a couple more wins before we can say he's better than Floyd P4P.

 

The best boxer on the planet at this time is Bernard Hopkins.
When Hopkins fights, Rigo, Mayweather, Lara, Garcia, Ward, Tarver, Froch, Calzaghe, Jones, Tyson, Lewis, and all other top tier fighters are in the seats or in front of the screen watching.
Hopkins is like the Scholar's scholar, or like the teacher's teacher.
They all call him, Master BHOP!

 

Skillwise he's definitely the best, but I have to think Ward would beat him easily just on workrate.

Put Hopkins present knowledge into his 30yr old body and then you have the best boxer today. :good

 

The 35 year old SMW Hopkins would have beaten Ward, no doubt.
Why?
Because Hopkins would have taken away Ward's left hook, and without his left hook all Ward has is a jab.

 

Well Estrada is bloody good fighter I think that Viloria was rated p4p when he beat him not that it matters that much. Floyd has more then 40 fights and was hurt a couple of times than doesn't come as close as going down from Cordoba's jab IMAO. Ward has looked completely invincible since the super six. He was very badly hurt against Boone I think but the guy knocked out Adonis and apparently hurt Kovalev really bad.
