Has anyone mentioned Andre Berto yet?

 

It’s like saying Floyd missed out on Margarito when any honest and sincere appraisal knows Floyd would have put Margarito in hospital like Mosley and Pacquiao did, such was the disparity in skills levels.
Would have loved to see Ward vs Andre Dirrell but what derailed Dirrell was unfortunate.

 

He should have fought Antonio. He was the longest reigning titlist at WW. Beat more top ten ranked WW's than Judah or Floyd. Floyd would NOT have done what Pac did. Floyd doesn't have the power at 147 to hurt Antonio. There's a HUGE reason Floyd stuttered away chickening out when he was confronted. Mr. poor brittle hands knew it was a real fight.

 

Yes Pacquiao had more championship fights that is a fact. The thing I sometimes don’t like about these debates is that it can sound like one is rubbishing a truly great fighter which is not what I want to do. I am simply saying that Ward overcame every obstacle he met if when it was against him whereas as magnificent as Pacquiao was he did not. Now you will say he fought more fights true and competing in 8 divisions is freaky so you have to take your hat off to Pacquiao for that. Similarly you must respect Ward for mastering his divisions which Pacquiao did not always.

Ward did not face a fraction of the obstacles Pac faced. And you said it yourself, Pac has more holes in his game. Yet with more holes, he accomplished TWICE as much as Ward did.

I have respect for Ward. I just don't think his resume is as good as many claim it is. He beat what...3 good SprMWs? And one LtHw, once close and controversial, the other via low blows. And that is somehow an ATG resume??

 

Olu.... it doesn't matter what an opponent beat by Ward, or in this case Floyd did, to someone else. THEY DID NOT DO IT THEMSELVES. Floyd didn't inherit a win over Tony because he beat Shane. Ward did not inherit a win over Bute because Froch beat him, and lost to Ward.

You are too smart a poster to try using that stuff. Floyd would have nothing that would hurt Tony. That's not to say Tony wins, but again, there's a reason Floyd chickened out, refused a career high pay day the time, and instead fought the worst WW champ ever in Baldomir. A fight people walked out on before the end.

 

Correction he beat 3 great Super MIddleweights and an outstanding Light Heavyweight long reigning dominant champion. Both have stellar careers. The problem is you can’t have a rational career with some about Pacquiao’s career. Liking someone is one thing but objectivity is another thing. There are some who insist Pacquiao’s career was greater than Floyd.

 

He did not chicken out. Margarito lost.

OK...so Ward has 4 big wins. We agree on that. And you consider that a stellar resume.

What have i been irrational about with Pac? If someone thinks Pac had a greater career than Floyd, and can make a case, what's the problem? Did Pac accomplish more than Floyd? Yep. Did he beat the better opponents and more of them? Yep. Did he win more titles in divisions then floyd? Yep.

But floyd is undefeated, like Ward, and you cling everything to that.

 

I do agree that A beating B and B beating C does not always mean A will beat C but in the case of Floyd vs Margarito as night follows day Floyd beats him every day of the week and twice on Sundays. Please let’s not discuss Margarito who is a cheat and disgrace to Mexican boxing. Loaded gloves.

 

At least tony didn't feel the need to beat up women Olu. That would be Floyd, the pussey pussey, mayweather

 

Come on we are talking boxing. He maintains he did not beat the beautiful Josie Harris( May her soul rest in peace) and he and other baby Mama the sexy Melissa Brim are best of friends, hell I know Floyd still hits it till today lol.
