Exactly what the title asks….what coach do you think is the best in the world right now?

I suspect a lot of people may say Bomac, this could be correct or it could be a little more recency bias but I’d be interested in hearing what you guys think.

    some other contenders maybe IMO……
    Andy Lee,
    Bozy Ennis
    Derrick James
    Robert Garcia
    Ben Davison (Kidding)

I’d love to hear what people say

    Andy Lee
    Shane McGuigan
    Robert Garcia

just very consistent and have good, analytical coaching demeanours. No nonsense, but get results.

One thing I’ll note is Robert has way too many dudes in his stable. It makes for great sparring but also neglect to some his fighters. Realistically if you can get him and his team undivided attention he’s the best choice. If you’re not a Bam or Vergil and you’re getting Pita Garcia’s attention you are not getting the true Robert Garcia experience.

Salas is a good shout, I thought it would be useless for a Rollie to train with Salas since he’s such a technical trainer but it worked out against Ryan.

If I had a son I’d have no problem sending him to Freddie Roach or Robert Garcia.

Ben gets a lot of hate. But who has a win as good as Fury v Wilder I when Fury was coming back from being a circus fat man and was expected to get KO'd?
Fury actually dominated the fight, fought one of his best ever fights until round 12 and if he'd listened to Ben not Roach he wouldn't have stood in front of Wilder and got decked.

probably garcia. but that gym has the benefit of 3 generations of trainers putting their heads together to sort fighters out. theres a lot of knowledge and experience at the highest levels in that gym.

It's subjective as certain fighters and coaches have good chemistry with each other.
Certain style fighters suit certain style coaches as well.

Robert Garcia is really good with smaller fighters

Interested in knowing how long you've followed this sport......

Why is Bozy Ennis and Derrick James a contender for this title.... What has either of the 2 done to suggest they are great trainers.

Bozy has just his son to hang his hat on and even he has shown himself to be vulnerable to equal or better competition by doing all he can to avoid getting in the ring with them, yet claim they are avoiding him.

Derrick James.....every single one of his fighters all have the same vulnerabilities. All are flat foot, depend heavily on one punch power, and we have seen Derrick James show ZERO ability to coach his fighters in the corner round to round to make any adjustment when his fighter is clearly getting outboxed.

Both of these trainers have some of the most athletic and/or naturally gifted punchers under their wing and yet, none of them are consider elite p4p caliber.

Ive been following the sport for years, Mayweather Vs Hatton was the first fight I remember watching so a decent amount of time IMO.

I’m referring to active coaches which is why I didn’t mention some of the all time greats that don’t currently have an active stable or have sadly passed.

i included Bozy due to the hype around him, boots, Andy Cruz etc. he may be flavour of the month right now or he may a decent coach with a good stable.

and Derrick James…..he got Charlo & spence into unifed champions in their divisions & arguably at their peak p4p fighters. Granted he’s on a bit of a decline right now but all trainers go through highs & lows.

I also feel like this is subjective to what you like in a coach. Anyway who would you say are your top ….3-5 active right now.
