I got you. Understandable. I actually attended the Mayweather/Hatton(RIP) fight. When I look at trainers/coaches, I don't go solely on success/accomplishments, I look at the ability to develop the fighters and make adjustments in the fights from round to round. Bozy has his son Ennis fighting opponents that are catered to his style and they are far from elite. vs Karen in 2 fights, 24 rounds....we saw it backfire in which he couldn't use his athleticism to keep Karen from skating away from him and he didn't go to the body to catch him as he slipped out on the ropes in the first fight. 2nd fight Karen actually exchanged with him and hit him repeatedly with the same cross/uppercut combination for another 12 rounds. Over hand counters because his lead drops every time he gets aggressive. Ennis is hyped because his style is 'sexy' for the naked eye. Bozy doesn't even communicate with Jaron about his career efficiently to suggest they have a unique connection. Way too many times we'll see interviews of Bozy saying one thing about what's up and coming for Boots and Jaron himself either says the total opposite or is simply clueless to the situation. Derrick James has a bunch of fighters who all struggle because each have a flat foot, one punch dependency on effectiveness. Again, we've seen EJ make zero adjustments vs guys like Kell Brook and Shawn Porter.....He just so happen to allow his power to bail him out over the course of the rounds vs Brook or get a flash knockdown vs Porter. But what happens when a smarter fighter like Crawford takes away one aspect of your attack then showcases that your flat foot movement can't keep him from attacking whenever he wants. Charlo was getting badly outboxed by Tony Harrison in 2 fights. Lost the first one and was losing the second until Tony got caught when his hands too low on a counter. Ryan Garcia, who's a one trick pony even before connecting with DJ, got dog walked by Rolly Romero and couldn't find a single answer for RR's offense. Listening to Derrick in each of their corners, you never hear a single strategic change of advice given in either of the fights I mentioned to assist those fighters in gaining a competitive edge. Derrick James got trainer of the year off the fact that Charlo had a damn good year beating a couple guys who were chosen to stand in front of him and attempt to match power. I don't see either of those guys as elite trainers just yet. Guys that I respect whom are active.......Robert Garcia, Freddie Roach, Jeff Mayweather.....I'll even say Virgil Hunter......he tried to help Amir Khan, but Khan resulted into his old tactics of lunging in 5/6/7 punch flurries leaving his ching exposed too long. I do like the 'team' of coaches for Terence Crawford.....Red Spikes, Esau, Bernie the Boxer, & BoMac. They seem to work well together and have Crawford more than ready and prepare to face any style he steps in the ring with.
