I think it's just situational irony -- that "justice" for Chigurh should be meted out by sheer chance after he's allowed "chance" to provide an out for his victims from his implacability and claimed that it was the same process that brought him and the coin to the place and time where chance should decide if somebody lives or dies. But none of it really adds up completely, which is probably the point -- an open question of whether there is something more than chance driving the violence that Chigurh represents.

There are alot of guys who go on offense well. Some are more volume than precision but here is a good list.

    *VOLUME*
    Juan Diaz
    Ricky Hatton
    Paul Williams
    Antonio Margarito
    Alexander Povetkin
    Joe Calzaghe

    *POWER*
    Miguel Cotto
    Waldo Klitschko
    Kermit Cintron
    Chad Dawson
    Kelly Pavlik
    Manny Pacquiao

Combining the list as to who does it best? You really have to go on achievements. And it's a tough call...

    Kelly Pavlik
    Ricky Hatton
    Juan Diaz
    Miguel Cotto
    Joe Calzaghe

Those would be my top 5 in that category.

Why are people mentioning Hatton. I love Hatton, but he is VERY limited in what he does offensively.

Cintron, Haye, Calzaghe (probably the best at this), Vazquez, Raph Marquez, Williams, Cotto, Mosely, Pavlik, Mijares, Pacman, etc.

Just off the top of my head....but why Hatton is being mentioned is beyond me.

Hatton has variety. He comes from different angles. Yes he does like that lead left hook but he has dropped guys on body shots and does use the uppercut as well as the straight right.

His tenacity and his speed/power make up for whatever ugly wrestling he does in the ring. He's like glue that you can't get off your chest. You absolutely have to have him on an offensive fighter list.

But he is an inside fighter without a good jab or outside game (who I agree that lead left hook is sweet). But the original poster said in terms of variety, and when you are limited to fighting inside 90% of the time, you dont offer much in terms of variety.

I guess it's how you look at it. When he said best offensive fighter I just took that in a general way. Whatever gets the job done kinda sense.

BOTH of the Marquez brothers (Rafa and Juan Manuel) are my favorite offensive machines.

    LETHAL combination punchers.

Agreed 100%. His offensive game is great. As I said, I love Hatton (and I pray he beats Floyd....tho I know it aint gonna happen)...I just dont consider him very versatile.

I know what you mean, Wlad's so dominating from the outside that he has little use for inside fighting. WK's offense is so good because he plays to his strengths not the opponents, which is basically what real boxing is all about. Hit & don't be hit, in this case what current HW is good enough to not get hit by Klitschko?
