    Robinson, Greb, Armstrong.

People who think Mayweather is the best in terms of skill are idiots. Jose Napoles shits all over him in terms of skill. Floyd is a defensive master not an all rounded skillster. Duran, Pea, SRR and SRL are far more complete fighters than Floyd. They have more to their game. Hearns would have totally ruined Floyd. TBE is a marketing ploy lads. Dont buy the hype. Floyds second tier. People forget how good others were and dont know other era's. Even lightweight great Ken Buchanan would caus Floyd all kinds of trouble with his grit, sublime technical boxing ability, varied jab, countering accuracy and classy fleet of foot. Prime Carlos Ortiz would likely beat Floyd he was a serious force. These are the level of guys we should be comparing Floyd to not the top tier ATG's. The guy's who would destroy him.

All that other stuff you say may be true but in no stretch of the imagination is Mayweather " second tier".

Foyd is second tier because he is not multi skilled. As for record he's a great but not a top tier ATG and he is ranked as such by historians. When he retires he'll be ranked just inside the top 50. The sport is old and rich with great fighters we all have to realise that fact.

Floyds skill level and record is defo second tier imo.
Skill level tiers are subjective. Most top tiers (or 1st tiers) have only 5 fighters but some people like to rank more in their top tier. Do you think Floyd has a top 5 skill set? He sure as **** does not imo.

Dont care how unpopular it is. Im saying RJJ.

In his prime, he could do things in the ring that quite simply NO ONE in history has been able to do.
Hopkins-Ruiz era Jones was simply something special.

The fact he was aided by roids alway's taints the greatness of prime Jones. He would not have looked as special without them.Imagine how much better someone like Gans would have looked if he could have juiced up back then. Gans was like the Jones of his day, lauded by fellow pro's and greats as the best talent they had ever seen.

In what way is Mayweather not multiskilled? At super featherweight, which is probably his best weight, you can't name another fighter that had his combination of great offense and defense. He is now fighting at weights that he has to fight more defensively to win and is still managing to do it at this late stage in his career. Is Mayweather on the same level as Robinson and Armstrong? Of course not. However, I put Mayweather at about 30 on my atg list and that clearly makes him first tier imo.

At this point you'll never top Robinson, but to be fair, he probably deserves his status as the greatest boxer in history.

I picked Duran, though, simply because he's the best boxer I've ever seen in my own lifetime.

Gans lost to the best he fought at the end of his career. Think he drew with Walcott and won 1 out of 3 vs Battling Nelson. I'm not sure how true this is but legend has it straight after a long fought victory fight in Washington Gans travelled to Boston in one day to take on Sam Langford, losing on points. Now to do that is something else, especially since Langford said Gans was the best he ever faced after the fight.
The great Benny Leonard totally Idolised Gans.
Fitzsimmons said Gans was the greatest fighter he ever seen.

There's not a lot on film but Gans must have been something else to watch talent wise which is my whole point.

There's a plenty fighters more multi skilled than Floyd. Those skills being tested by far tougher comp as well. Floyd is second tier imo. Deal with it and run along. I am not the only one with that opinion.

Having Floyd ranked at 30 is fair enough but ATG rankings is resume and skill together not just skill which is my whole point in talking about skill tiers. There have been fighters as good as Floyd that never won a world title because the era's were tougher and only the one belt. Benton for example. Buchanan is for sure not far off the skills of Floyd and he's not ranked in the top 100. Floyd's skill is second tier.

SRR he had everything and a little bit more.

People really saying Floyd based on skill set? There's a good argument that Rigo is on-par with his skill set, never mind some of the legends listed in the poll.

If you try and justify an opinion by saying "well then you know nothing about boxing" whilst giving no actual boxing knowledge yourself, quite frankly you should be embarrassed

Mayweather is an exceptionally skilled boxer, but best ever? Come on...
