I agree with Rock and Pea here, as I do on just about everything.

Like Pac Fenech didnt have many fights at the weight, and his comp was even lower then that of Pac's. Fenech's name should not have come up in this thread,. Their were some guys that maybe should be in the talks guys like tom Johnson, Jorge Paez, and Eusebio Pedroza maybe abit outside of the 20 year window, I dont remember when his last fight was, it was right around 20 years ago.

Fenech was a champ less then 20 years ago...He would have beaten all others mentioned..Therefore I think he is the best.

I wont dispute he had the weaker resume there..but technically that call is justified. :D

I dont think that he would have beat any of those fighters. So I guess that we are at a standstill... That isnt the point, the question was who was the best featherweight, and with that being the question a fighter should have done some damage at the weight to be in the running...No one says that Jones was the best jr middleweight of the last 20 years even though either he Mayweather or Whitaker were the best fighters to fight at the weight over the past 20 years

Perhaps the greatest featherweight of the last 20 years would be more apt...:think I know what it meant though, I was just chucking it out there to stir the pot and take the term more literally then should be. That version of Fenech was better then those guys in my eyes.

Fenech would own most of those blokes and at the very least edge them out ..Im not going to argue it with you if you feel differently but I just cant believe how many people just see Fenech as this unskilled slugger..when he was in fact as skilled as any of those guys and more physically dominant.

Add another 10 years to the competition, and it's a no-brainer as both Salvadore Sanchez and Azumah Nelson easily, and I do mean easily, beat everyone on this list. Oh wait, I forgot. Nelson destroyed Fenech in Australia.

Barrera but no shame if others chose Morales or Hamed. Even Jeff Fenech was a great Featherweight himself. Its such a rich division with plenty of great fights to choose from that boxing would be lost without the lower weights.

Nah, it would still be the same. If he had asked which was the greatest fighter then the answer would change..Sure it doesnt take 20 fights at a weight for one to be seen as the best/greatest fighter at that weight, but it sure as hell takes more then 3-5 fights at a weight.

As far as Fenech goes I actaully said nothing about his skill level, so Im not sure were that comment came from.

I never said you did...it was just a general comment. He gets underrated when compared to the guys mentioned because quite simply very few people have seen him in his prime.

Pac or Barrera; I gave it to Pac because he's acheived more, even though Barrera was probably equally talented.

As a Featherweight, Barrera's work was significantly more impressive than Manny's very short stay at the weight. Whereas Marco saw off prime versions of the best 122lb fighter since Gomez, and the best 126lb fighter in the world at the time, Manny beat Marco, drawn with Marquez, and that's about as far as his work at 126lb goes. It's not shocking he is leading on this poll though, there is no perspective with this guy.

although Barrera accomplished more than Pacquiao at 126, thats mainly because he stayed at the weight so much longer. If we're going strictly on who was better between the 2 at the weight, then its hard to see how you could say Barrera was better then Pac when Pac just tore through him.
