Tapes of SRR -- impressive though they are, A -- don't begin to suggest the stone killer he was. The humble public persona was his Jeckyll half. Hyde showed up in the ring.

So Manny has had one less than exciting fight due to an opponent who wasn't filling to fight back...

Floyd's entire career has been full of boring ass stinkbombs

You should have your own thread on this site just telling us young folks stories from way back when....

Who is the nicest boxer you have ever met outside of the ring?

John if you have time, tell us what it was like back then. I'd even be interested in the political angle, what did the white folk think of a black champ etc?

Just about all of the fighters ive met were super cool

These are some of the ones that stand out.

Johnny Tapia Act like your his best friend seems like guy whod take the shirt off his back.. My friend fought him to a draw(efren Chavez) he was real cool took pics with us

Genaro Hernandez Super humble classy guy

Paul Gonzalez as a kid used to talk hours with me about boxing from same gym.

Hector Lopez- was in jail with him i was a trustee and use take his breakfast too him and use to talk with him all the time

Danny Lopez waited for me to go find my dad when i told him he was his favorite.

Muhamad Ali Ever the joker and loveable man even in his parkinsons state (this was in 93) got fired at my job for talking to him for too long... He was doing autograph signngs of a bookstore where i was working.

Armando Muniz Kind of casually know him he acts like an old friend when i see him

Mando Ramos Super funny guy rip

Alex Garcia- Use to eat lunch with 90s mexican hw hope back in the 80s after workouts at the gym

Paul Banke - Former JF Champ Party with him at newyears eve party in the 90s at HIlton Hotel super kool

Bobby Chacon Likes to hugg and kiss everyone:lol:
Manny Pacquiao Super humble this was when he barely won the JF title and hadnt blown up in fame yet

Even ODLH Nice guy and always engaged in conversation just always to mobbed. Also remember him as a phenom young teen when he would sometimes work out at the same gym.

Fernando Vargas Went to his after party totally cool dude
Wilie Jorrin partied down with him

Shane Mosley when he wass still a prospect/Contender talked with me and my cousin for a long time and asked to see my KO magazine to see where he was ranked.. and dissected the lw division down to us.. Also partied with his dad and he gave me a ride home

Carmen Basillio one of the funniest acts cranky but really hes a loveable tough old guy. He told me he outta sock me one when i asked him how hed do against todays elite fighters:lol:

Bernard Hopkins answered one of my questions.. but later ran away at the VIP party and took of when i asked him for a picture at the Forbes-ODLH fight. Although his entourage/BOdy guards had something to do with that.

Julio Chavez one of my favorite all time fighters but acted like a prima donna dick at his press conference with ODLH.:-(

Michael Carbajal dogged me and walked away when i approached him.:-(
Bob Foster was grouchy but still took a pic and signed autographs.

I told Archie Moore he was the greatest or one of greatest LH.. He looked at me crazy and said Dont gimme that **** and grabbed my fight program and scribbled his autograph:lol:

Met alot of other well know fighters and greats too who were really cool , ive been lucky to me countless fighters but still havent met my all time favorite Roberto Duran or other favs like MIke Tyson,Marvin Hagler,Holyfield...... I hear Duran and Tyson are really good with their fans. Seen my avi(Barrera) countless time in fights but still have never personally met him.
