The things you attempt to criticize Marciano for are so tiny, so nit picky, it's almost laughable you even mention them. There are areas he could be criticized for(not having more depth to his resume)but you never go there. You criticize him for things he shouldn't be criticized for.

Hard to say. I don't believe either fighter would want to get back into the ring for a second time.

Marciano-****ell was one of the more disgusting fights I've ever seen.

I felt dirty just watching it.

If Marciano's skin can hold up, I think he makes for a very competitive fight versus Ali.
Muhammad does not possess the power to keep Marciano off him and Rocky has the engine to keep pace with the much faster Ali.

    Based on what?

Ali only had 12 fights in which the other guy weighed less than 190, he won them all with 9 stoppages out of the 12.

As for Marciano's engine, it doesn't mean sh it. What is the use of a Maserati with 4 flat tyres?

I've said on this forum that Marciano was a great fighter ,that he beat everyone put in front of him and that is all you can ask of him.All true.
I've also said he was a dirty fighter .True
That he had a brief 3 years reign .True
That 4 of his challengers were 37,39,33/34 years old.True
That two of them were in their primes as light heavyweights.True
That he was behind on points against Walcott .True
That he was in danger of being stopped on a tko by both Charles and Simmons .True
That many thought Lastarza deserved the decision in their first fight.True
That he never faced a big prime heavyweight of any class.True
That he was slow on his feet .True
That he was an easy mark for an old Joe Louis's jab .True
    That he cut easily.True

Now tell me what I criticize him for that is untrue?

don't try and pretend the Rock has no chance :bbb

the rock was very impressive :good

he hit very hard and when he got hit he always did so well at hitting right back, that's impressive, that's the type of thing that can in a blink of a eye overcome hand speed :bbb

It depends on the fighter whose hand speed he is trying to negate. It also depends on the foot speed of the person who is hitting him.

He has no chance, or less than no chance against everyone from Liston to the present day ( respected champions, not mere alphabet boys ) and that is the reality of the matter.

Marciano was never hurt that bad so you cant just say that Tyson would knock him out. And if Tyson cant knock him out early he is in for a long night. I cant see Tyson keeping up with Marciano in a 15 round fight or even a hard fought 12.

No, anyone can be knocked out but a great chin often can take even an alltime great punch and can seem impossible to knock out although thats not the case. All the great punchers encountered opponents that were hard to knock out or that they could not knock out. We have all seen the hardest punchers in history land great punches all night long and not be able to stop a great chinned fighter. Marciano had a great chin and Tyson may not be able to knock Marciano out. Tyson on the other hand did not have a great chin and Marciano hit like a train when his best punches landed.

Based on the fact that he didn't sit down on his punches in the 60's, preferring instead to pop the jab and throw the right mostly with the intention of moving right after he did so.
Even when he did go more for power he hit Frazier with dozens (literally) of right hands and Joe was right on him in every fight.
I think Marciano can duplicate much of what Joe did.

Good point, so we're to take it that there are a couple of great historical HW's he'd be 'bookies favourite' against......

    H2H I'm struggling too....maybe Frazier......:huh

Frazier and Marciano would make the best match, beoyond frazier,i don't think he beats many tall lanky technical boxxers either, and guys like holyfield would have ate him alive, the skill sets are so different its obvious to anyone why a holyfield would run him over .Guys like a Lewis or bowe and not even that level like a Tucker would be hell for him.
