Who is the best fighter who ever fought at JUNIOR-WELTERWEIGHT??

    Not enough mention for Floyd Jr. This is a hard weight division to call because so many legends moved through this weight class. It is hard to pick any of the top contenders against Duran at 140. He would have owned that weight class. But I have to go with Julio Cesar Chavez. The Taylor fight clinches it. By 2 or 3 seconds.

    From your list I'd put Pryor but back in the eight division days Joe Gans, Billy Conn, Henry Armstrong, and Sam Langford all fought there on occasion and so IMHO they would "probably" be better.

    Because it was already proven that PBF was a better fighter when he beat Ricky convincingly, so there's no point in me making him an option in a selection for best fighter h2h, if there's already someone there who is proven better h2h. And even if we ignore that fight as it was at 147, do you seriously think Ricky could live with any of the rest other than Tszyu? I don't. Ricky is the best fighter at 140 today, but he is not in the same league as a Whitaker or a Pryor or a Chavez or a Benitez IMO - and it's my thread!!

    OK, it's obviously Roberto Duran, but he never won a world title there or fought there for more than the odd filler fight or two.

    Who was the greatest champion H2H at 140? ATG Tony Canzoneri fought at super-lightweight in the early 1930s before the division was discontinued for 30 years, so we will make this discussion from the resumption of the junior-welterweight division in the 1960s.

    The choices are (I may have overlooked some contenders, if I have then bring them up):

    - NICOLINO LOCCHE

    - ANTONIO CERVANTES

    - WILFRED BENITEZ

    - AARON PRYOR

    - PERNELL WHITAKER

    - JULIO CESAR CHAVEZ

    - KOSTYA TSZYU

    - FLOYD MAYWEATHER JR


    Who would be your choice and why for the best fighter ever H2H at 140?

    Pryor, by a mile in my book, all thou Benitez gets over looked due to what happened later in his boxing life, as a youngster he was a great fighter.

    Why have Floyd on the list if he did less than sh*t in the division? Or if you have him, why no DLH, how had very little time at 140 as well, but the late Chavez (as the champion) and MAG (undefeated) are two very notable wins.

    Other than that, nice list... is LWW a bit overlooked historically? Some very good HOF made their name there...

    My statement was a sarcastic one, directed to those who think that Hatton is so great. My opinion is the same as yours, and that is that Hatton might be good for this era but no great when it comes H2H with those boxers you listed and others that are not there.:smoke
