Are there any judoka out there who could compete with these names mentioned so far? I would assume their stand up/clinch game would be world class. I need to get more into this MMA. I actually have a fair bit of martial arts experience (about four years karate, judo and jiu jitsu and another six years boxing) and I'm surprised that I've not been interested in this before.
Compete how, in a grappling match under sub-grappling or BJJ rules? No probably not. Pawel Natsula did very well grappling in MMA, and in his prime might have been able to hang pretty close if he was focused on it. The rules of BJJ/no-gi put too little emphasis on takedowns and/or too little penalty on pulling guard, IMO. Rhadi Ferguson, American Judoka did make a splash at ADCC (the biggest no gi grappling competition) one year, but did not win, more surprised people.
