Cassius Clay of course. Spinks always had Clay's number and would have beaten him at any stage of his career.

If Clay had not had Don King buying off 2 judges per fight, he have lost a lot more fights in reality, and none of you Clay riders would have been calling him the "greatest".

I would not favour him over any other lineal.

He is the clear cut worst on paper.

Jack Sharkey....the one of the strange Max Schmelling fights and the Primo "knockout fight"

I think that Sharkey was two classes above to be honest.

Even on an off night it would be a bold pick.

You are probably right. I just remember Sharkey tanking it against Primo.

Rocky Marciano, Gene Tunney if you consider them heavyweights. Any so called 180 pound heavyweight before Marciano he could beat. I can't see him beating any prime modern sized heavyweight champion.

Leon Spinks vs Foreman would have been an awful thing to see.

How would he have done against the heavyweight version of his brother, Michael, who fought at the weight in 86-88?

Interesting proposed fight M.Spinks vs Young George. I was thinking about that myself, but will have to think about it awhile.

None. Even the "heavyweight "version of R.Jones beat Spinks. His victory over Ali was the most important indicater of how bad Ali was his last couple yrs. Very Very sad honestly.
