Linares is ranked top 5 with the WBC, WBA and WBO and is one of the best boxers in the division.

If he had a chin he'd be unstoppable.

I believe Abril wanted no part of him and pulled a duck.

Most definitely...could you name 20 guys clearly ranked higher though? I think it starts to get soft around 14 here - probably I would wedge him in like 16 something like that.

Linares would be WBA champ now if Abril hadn't ran scared.

    Well, who knows.

If Linares is as good as you and the WBO says he is, I'm sure he'll be back - it's only a matter of fighting good fighters and beating them, after all.

Chalk me up as one who would pick Abril if my life was on the line.

What happens if the result is reversed...Does Crawford move into the number 2 slot, past Abril...?

IF Vasquez wins his fight tonight then he is the #1 guy @135lbs.
(Going into today's fight IMO is/was the best lightweight)

Crawford will eventually be the man @135lbs

The winner of Burns/Crawford will likely only be bested by Miguel Vazquez for the right to call themselves the best LW in the world...

Why? what has Crawford done? Kevin Mitchell and Denis Shafikov have better records

Well IF he beats Burns, he'll have beaten the current #3, whilst ranked at #5. In almost anyone's book, that should be enough to make him #2.

Causes a lot of consternation, this division...

Right, if at all. Vazquez's inactivity has to be weighed. Although in terms of the title of the tread, I'd probably go along with what you've said.
