Pirog is in the top 4, Chavez isn't and in terms of skill anyone who thinks its even close needs to go watch MMA or something.

As far as I know, Quillin still has to beat N'Jikam to win the WBO title, and that's not a given.

Martinez is clearly the legitimate number 1 at the weight. I do think Golovkin could beat him, but that's just a personal pick based on styles. Martinez is far more proven so he has to be the man to beat at the weight

Martinez is still kingpin of the division.

I'd like to see geale and Golovkin face off and the winner face Martinez.

In the meantime Martinez should rematch Chavez to remove the "what if" factor about Chavez opening up earlier.

Martinez is very close to establishing a great mw legacy in my opinion. If he is victorious in the two fights I proposed he's only got Pirog and maybe Sturm left and he can reasonably say he cleaned out his division.

If he finds time in there to beat Floyd that's a healthy bonus.

Martinez has great skills and he left it late to kickstart his career but now he's knocking on the door of the greatness he deserves.

Martinez without a doubt he won EVERY ROUND with exception of the last one. Golovkin is good but he hasn't fought anyone near Martinez' level

Martinez is at the moment, without doubt.

Since Martinez has won the belt he hasn't fought a top 5 MW.

Martinez has ligament damage in his knee and if he needs surgery he'l be out quite a while. IF he did what you proposed and beat the Geale/Golovkin winner, Pirog, Sturm what you said would be true but we all know it will never ****ing happen.

Martinez is the obvious answer. Golovkin is a beast, and don't sell Daniel Geale short either. But it's a great division at the moment and there are any number of excellent fights possible and which hopefully get made.

Macklin and Chavez were top 5. Dzin was top 5 at lmw.

Geale and Golovkin are both ambitious boxers and the winner will undoubtedly be a star. I see no good reason for the fight not to happen.

I've reservations about pirog and sturm stepping up to the plate but I guess time will tell.

Like you said though, if he does what I say he'd be great. I class being within 2/3 fights as knocking on the door. I'm glad we agree on that matter :good

    Lets break this down.

    1-"
Chavez v Macklin is fair enough.
But saying MArtinez "Finally" fight a top 3 guy is a BS comment to be frank. Martinez wanted Sturm who avoided him like the plague and beat the linear champ and Williams was in or around the top 3 also. I think you view of the Middleweight landscape is distorted somewhat.

Here is how I see top 10 at 160 after last 3 weeks

    1- Martinez
    2- Geale
    3- Golovkin
    4- Pirog
    5- Chavez Jr
    6- Peter Quillin
    7- Hassan N'dam N'Jikam
    8- Felx Sturm
    9- Matthew Macklin
    10-Martin Murray
    ----------------------------------------

Hassan and Quillin to fight soon so we will know that this is going to change quickly.

Don't be surprised if 3G gets caught out and really tested against one of the other belt holders. If he keeps getting avoided, the lack of quality opposition could work against him.

Martinez is still miles ahead of the pack.

It's not a bout skill only though.
Its about a lot of other characteristics also.
Heart being 1 of them. Chin being another. Power being another. Chavez Jr has chin and now we know he has heart as well as strength.
