Who is the best modern heavyweight (90s and onward) that you would pick Rocky Marciano to beat?

    Marciano @ 230lb.?

I honestly despair at some people's complete lack of understanding what does and doesn't work for some fighters and which style suits them best.

Not gonna lie, it gave me a chuckle  They're acting like he'd be the white Lennox Lewis or something.

If you're admitting that Marciano needs to bulk up to beat Wlad or Lewis, then you're basically admitting he isn't good enough to do it as he is.

Someome like Holyfield is where he should be aiming here.

Rahman was asked once how he would get on with Marciano, and predicted a draw...

Shkor had won 3 of his last 11 fights when he fought Marciano. He was not a decent opponent.

Holyfield and Holmes have a combined 36 stoppage wins inside of 5 rounds, many of which were against much better opponents than Shkor.

He thought he would win but didn't want to be disrespectful, I think.

Rahman always struck me as a decent guy- despite his background.

No, if somebody picks a boxer puncher over a swarmer, on the grounds that they are a better boxer, I would always question that logic.

Even if I thought the boxer puncher would win, I wouldn't see that as a very coherent argument.

The whole point of being a swarmer, is wo overwhelm people who are better technician, by outworking them and smothering them.

Picking Holyfield for being a better technician, is a bit like picking him because he remembered to lace up his boxing gloves.

I men do the guys think that Marciano is going to try to outbox him or something?

Yeah, I pick Holyfield, but I agree with this post.

The only time it doesn't hold is when there is a technical mis-match, which is probably what those boys mean (though I don't agree).

Maybe Holy...I wouldn't bet on that fight. Late 90s Tyson. Herbie Hide...but that's not guaranteed either. Hide could move and bang.
