i can agree with this. there weren't a ton of other fighters he could have fought, nor were there many opportunities to make those fights happen but at the end of the day he should have done more. the greats would have made the fights happen: he didn't. he, and calzaghe, should get dinged for that accordingly
i like srr but the ? i have is would any of them guys in terms of p4p give roy any problems jones wipes the floor with all of them imo thats all im sayin and dykes man common be honest i mean you seen the video no disrespect to ray he was tough good chin multiple left hooks good speed power and he fought alot of people but roy at his best i never seen anything like that kid thats all
"P4P" arguments are useless when considering hypothetical matchups. A guy like Kid Gavilan was every bit as good as Jones, in my opinion (better in many aspects like durability and certain proven intangibles), and Robinson beat him twice. If you're trying to rag on Robinson's opposition (which is pretty ridiculous, being as his resume is one of the best of all time), why the double standard? Ray fought 10 times the quality and quantity that Jones ever faced, which is a major part of why Jones was able to do a lot of what he did. Out-matched opposition. Roy was a great fighter, though, don't get me wrong. A phenom, really. It's hard to look more impressive than he did. However, athleticism and flash can take a big backseat to outright efficiency and substance. Both of these guys had a lot of both, Robinson just proved it a lot more conclusively.
Well you couldn't because you clearly don't know who the overwhelming majority of those guys are if you are questioning his resumé. All those guys, plus other top guys he fought past his best and lost to like Giardello & Archer, equat to about 50 fights out of 200. That's about 25% of his fights against HOF's or top contenders, most of which he won. Now you go and look at Roy Jones Jr's resumé and tell me that he's had 15/16 of his 61 fights against HOF's and won most of them.
