benitez beat antonio "kid pambele" cervantes at age 17, carlos palomino, and maurice hope to win his 3 titles. 2 of those 3 are among the best to ever lace them up in their respective divisions.

tito beat maurice blocker, mahenge zulu, and william joppy for his titles. blocker and joppy decent champions, but nothing to write home about.

imo benitez has a much better claim to best 3 division champ than any of those listed

 

True..There's not many people who can accomplish som much at such a young age.

De La Hoya is the only other fighter I can think of right now who was a 3 division champ by the age of 23.

being champ in multiple divisons is overrated... there's one top boxer in PR and that's wilfredo gomez for what he did in one division..

I'd say:

Benitez, then Trinidad, then Gomez, then Cotto.

On second thought, I can't really decide between Trinidad and Benitez.

Tito is my fave of the bunch, but I gotto go with Benitez too..

 

Benitez.....keep in mind that he not only won the title at 17 ....he beat a living legend decisively !!!
