The way he handled Ward-Froch was excellent, I wish all refs were as savvy & smart as he is. Let the action flow, dont try & micro-manage every situation & let the fighters fight.

Smoger for me closely followed by Bayless and Weeks.
If any of those 3 are reffing im pretty happy.

I HATE Cortez with a passion.

 

I like that Canadian ref Griffin I think his name is also there that Afro-American(colour) referee who seems very professional to me... Ernie Sharif .

 

Ian John-Lewis and Cortez are the worst for me.

Steve Smoger is the best IMO. i like his policy, less is more - he lets the fighters fight. Ive never seen him blow a major call....
I like Kenny Bayless alot too, he's much more involved

WHo's that super scrawny black dood? I like him, he's real hands off and kind of disappears...

Cortez IS NOT fair or firm.... he's shaky at best - i will never forgive him for his shitbag disqualification call on Humberto Soto vs Francisco Lorenzo 1. Soto had ALREADY KD'd Lorenzo in the round, and Lorenzo kept on Sweet Pea dipping so ****ing low, and Soto cornered him and start dropping on him, and he sweet pea'd to the ****ing ground, and Soto got DQ'd cuz Lorenzo couldnt continue? And just PRIOR to that happening, Cortez jumped inbetween the two as to wave off Lorenzo, but pulled back out and retracted it. And he's got the wisdom to DQ a guy who he had just cleanly KD'd the fighter, and the ref himself attempted to stop the fight, and DQ him.... ALL in the same round? And for a titlebelt fight?
Cortez has had other very shaky decision making in other fights....

I'd say the best refs in the game are Smoger, and Bayless.
