Before you jump the gun and go by PBF #1 p4p champ. Think it through.
JMM counter punching brilliance or PBF defensive style.

    DEBATE!!

The "brilliance of PBF defensive style" has only the faintest grounding in technical excellence. There is no debate so far as I can see.

    Marquez, by a mile.

2/3's of decent trainers on the planet would tell an absolute novice who first stepped into the ring to fight more like JMM than Floyd. Barring superbly talented prodigy's.

    I'll go with JMM, too.

    JMM.

PBF relies a lot on his athleticism to get it done while JMM is pure "sweet science".

To me a technical boxer is a surgeon. He is very careful and uses his brain during every move and just picks his opponents apart.
PBF sticks to this more while JMM has a tendency to want to trade and give a more exciting fight. I really cant pick one between the two and im a JMM fan and i guess people could label me a PBF hater but i can recognize talent when i see it.

Regardless of what idiots may or may not have been saying, why not answer the question? Is Mayweather a better technical boxer than Marquez?

    Floyd is great, technically.

But still, he does have a lot of pure "talent" and speed that allows him to get away with things that other pure technicians like JMM can't.

Very basic example: Floyd doesn't ALWAYS hold his hands up; his left his sometimes low. JMM usually has very good positions with his hand (up, in defense, but also in position to throw)

Guys who are picking PBF don't know what technical boxing is. They want to have a look at 22's answer, because it sums things up pretty nicely.

Yes and people tend to forget how good he really is. Come on most people were expecting a blow out by Pac who had advantages in almost every category but technical ability and JMM was so much better in that alone that he overcame the age, strength, and speed advantage.

Lets say PBF and JMM met. Fantasy match up same speed, strength, size, in their prime. The only difference would be their technical ability.
Am i right to assume A complete domination and possibly stoppage by JMM?

JMM does everything technical and by the book. If you watch him throw a punch it is as perfect and fundamental as you are going to get. I disagree, when JMM is under fire he still sticks to his fundamentals and never gets wild. Floyd is the better fighter but JMM is far more technical and fundamental in his style. Floyd himself even likes watching JMM and Raf both fight. He said this in one of his many interviews when he was asked what current fighters he likes to watch. JMM was the first name to come out of his mouth. Floyd pulls his head straight back he keeps his chin high a lot of stuff that would get you knocked the hell out if you are not him.
