Ludicrous. He holds his hands low. He doesn't cover "walk away" and other moves with punching. He doesn't punch in combinations at the weight. He retreats in a straight line on occasion. He doesn't use hand position to take the sting out of punches properly. He doesn't move his feet when avoiding punches but rellys on upper body movement. None of these things are true of Marquez.
Well, if in this fantasy match-up, Floyd's superior athletiscm means nothing (as their equals)... then you'd have to favour the more technical fighter. In a more reality based p4p match-up, where Floyd is still very much superior in terms of pure talent (and speed, etc..); then no. The better technician doesn't always win. Roy Jones Jr. sure as hell wasn't the BEST technician.
Hell no. Floyds defense is like none other. What the hell are you talking about. You cant add speed and strength :rofl:rofl:rofl. Thats the funniest H2H **** I have ever heard. If they both were to fight at 130, Floyd would beat him. JMM is a counter puncher, Floyd is faster and damn near impossible to counter at 130 as he counterpunches like a madman. You dont understand floyds style is he counters every single punch a guy throws damn near. Floyd does it so much you would think he is leading and he never does.
Are leaping left hooks and lunging right hand shots "textbook"? Or are they the result of exceptional talent that allows one to get away with these questionable traits? Because PBF uses these two traits all the time. Just curious.
You like him a lot better than Jones or Marquez (polar opposites, don't knwo why you chose to name them both) because "does everything right when he has to"? Right well Marquez is close to technically perfect ALL the time...so even if that is true, and I don't accept that it is, Floyd would still be technically inferior. Seriously, what ares is Floyd technically superior in? His punching is technically inferior, his footwork is technicallly inferior, his positioning is technically inferior...what makes you think otherwise?
One more thing though - I DO believe that PBF is technically sound. Sound, not exceptional, but he doesn't utilise it like he might.
Fair point (though you hope for better general knowledge). 1 - Floyd Mayweather 2 - Manny Pacquiao 3 - Juan Manuel Marquez 4 - Joe Calzaghe. I consider Mayweather far and away the best fighter in the world. I don't think Pac is that close to him in overall ability.
