Rocky was better than Primo in every department, Primo wouldn`t have lande a glove on Charles or Walcott, Rocky`s hands were far quicker, look at the right hand he stopped Walcott with.

Rocky had fantastic instincts, unmatched defensive ability to slip punches and step inside to deliver power punches that put the lights out of the best HW of the era. Primo, great size and strength, but never was a fighter, He could be competitive because he was so strong but lacked the basic skills needed to hold the title against real fighters.

Apples and oranges. They both excelled at different things. However, I will say that Marciano had better foresight, since when he started having back problems and couldn’t train like he used to he retired rather than fighting at anything less than 100%. Carnera should’ve retired after he suffered his ankle injury against Baer, since he was never 100% again and that injury plagued him the rest of his career.
