Who is the better body puncher Cotto or Micky ward

Cotto by far...

Ward is a journeymen.

Cotto is easily a more complete and talented fighter, but god damn Mickey could throw a left hook to the body that was something fierce. I go Mickey on that bodyshot, but Cotto has him in every department besides that minus toughness.

 

Ward had the better left hook but Cotto is overall the better bodypuncher of the two.

 

I have litterally soiled myself just hearing the thuding sound of one of Cotto's signiture body shots. Imagine the *****s on the recieiving end..

Cotto is the better overall fighter of course, but Ward had magic in that left hook to the body. One of the best in the game, EVER. Better than Cotto's, better than MAB's, maybe matched by JCC's bodysnatching. It just doesn't get much better than Mickey when it comes to throwing that shot, he could cripple anyone he caught with it if he could find that liver.

 

Ward? For Chrissake, Cotto is the most proeminent body puncher since JCC and the Body Snatcher himself...

 

Going by left hook to the body than Ward but overall body punching it's Cotto.

 

That is not something I'd admit to if I were you.


Anyway, I say Ward simply because punch for punch his hook to the body was the harder blow. Neither one went to the body very consitently though, both picked their spots to unleash their monsterous hooks.

Cotto has more variety but on p4p basis, ward's left to the liver is more damaging than any one cotto shot

I remember when Ward tried unleashing his left to the body on Zab Judah. What did he get for his troubles, a body attack from Zab that had him on all fours! Ward done serious damage when he landed that shot, but in terms of consistency and accurancy, Cotto's is better.
