Im a huge Cotto fan but this is easy. Judah

Cotto couldnt box with Judah. He had to bully Judah and resorted to a couple of low blows.

Mayweather couldnt even outbox Judah. He also bullied Judah and pot shotted him. Floyds body shots were amazing but fighting in the center of the ring, Judah got the best of him.

Ill admit he cant work on the inside very well. Not due to lack of skill but comfortability. He doesnt like a lot of physical contact and he has heart but lacks toughness.

Love seeing him go to work tho. Not many can hang with him on the outside. Khan will be first to get the better of him on the outside

The well focused and healthy Judah is a better boxer, well rounded fighter than Cotto.

I think the question should be, who's the more effective Boxer.

Judah is clearly more technically sound, but his effectiveness as a Boxer, is curtailed by the fact he has mental lapses, isn't consistent executing his plan, cant utilize his skills adequately, whilst under pressure.

Who ever is more effective, its marginal imo.

At first I thought Judah, then I thought equal, but I think it's Cotto. Cotto has proven more effective with his skills against better competition and rarely just punches his way to victory. So I think his fundamentals and jab, while not as flashy, get more done than Judah's slick boxing and counter-punching often do.

I think this is a fair assessment to be honest.

Cotto. Judah has faster hands by miles and can work better angles, but when it comes down to basics it's Cotto.

I can agree with this. Cotto lunges forward with the jab, telegraphing most of his punches. His shoulder injury took away from his right hand in the recent years but its never really been great and is very open to the uppercut. I like Cotto's feints, power in his left hook and jab of course, and timing and he approaches his opponents in a smart manner much like De La Hoya.

    but

Judah overall is a much more sound boxer. It looks much more natural and he's got power in both hands, great jab, incredible straight left and uppercut, nice right hand hook, good balance and footwork, plus he is much more naturally talented.

Seriously, we don't have many guys who can do it like Zab. He is a very unique, very special fighter. Sure he may not have faced adversity as well as he could have and mentally, would fall behind but his skills are undeniable.

Cotto may be tough, powerful and ruthless but Judah's talent and skills are on another level than Cotto, and MOST of the fighters today campaigning at jw and ww. No doubt about it.

Basics such as ? Having a hard time how you can agree with this. Assuming fundamentalss, no idea how you can come up with Cotto having better 'basics' than Judah. Judah is technically more sound and naturally more gifted. It's not all speed, Judah throws on balance, punches are more accurate, crisp and sharp, can use both hands effectively with good footwork while Cotto lunges forward with his jab, loses his footing much of the time being off-balance, and fights with one hand. Fundamentals = basics = Judah

    Cotto.

I don't want to hear, "When Judah is focused." He's faced a couple of tomato cans at 140 so people are going ga ga over him. Watch him face a guy just as good as him and he will crumble again. So what good is his skills if he only uses it when he's focused?

    This is pretty damn obvious.

Cotto is the better boxer, if you're talking about the more skilled craftsman. The reason it was competitive at all when they met is because Judah is more athletically gifted than Cotto (quicker, more explosive).

When it comes to craft, Cotto is far more skilled.

FFS, Judah is practically the poster child for coasting on athletic talent...whereas Cotto is an example of a guy who overcomes not being the fastest or most powerful with technical aptitude through intense dedication to both training and constantly learning the art of boxing with a sponge mentality.

This is like elementary Boxing Fan 101 type ****.
