Cotto is technically flawed whereas Judah battles overcoming adversity. Two way different aspects of the game. The reason why it was competitive was because Judah took advantage of Cotto's mistakes, plus Cotto hit him in the balls twice after getting hit but a huge left uppercut / and huge straight left. Cotto is hardly the better boxer when it comes to the basics of boxing

Cotto was a better boxer at 140. His fight vs Judah was sloppy. I have to say he made a smart move hiring Steward. His flat-footed, off balance, come forward style at 147 almost ruined his career. He is better than that.

Cotto's definitely more skilled technically and has a better grasp of the basics. Reduce Judah down to Cotto's handspeed and footspeed and I'd bet he wouldn't be nearly as successful and his flaws would be even more apparent than Cotto's. People have always confused Judah's physical gifts for skill.

Cotto is better at everything. He is a better fighter period. More complete. Judah is good and I always thought he had great skills which came from his speed, but his chin is not great and even though he has great hand speed, he stands too much in front of guys to not eventually get his chin tested, and his chin like I said is not great. But speed Judah has, which shows you that having speed is good but still not enough.

Exactly. In most of his fights, Cotto is on balance, keeps a tight guard, doesn't leave himself open for counters from over the top, protects his body, doesn't stick his chin out beyond shoulder-level when throwing, and keeps one hand guarding while throwing the other. He's efficient in stalking and boxing. Judah is more athletic and has a style that belongs to often technically talented fighters. Judah is technically sound but he's no technician and has a few more holes. Sure, Cotto may sometimes over-commit his jabs and lean too much on the front foot, but he has to work a lot harder technically to connect without the blinding speed of Judah. Judah's a mix of speed and good defensive boxing, and Cotto has had to use an application of timing and correct punching placement to connect his power through.
