of course Tito. Cotto has beaten a bunch of good fighters, but hasnt become an undisputed champion yet.

We will see. With a win over Mayweather I think he's definitely the better fighter.

so how exactly did Tito get his fights? Did his titles in 3 weight classes have anything to do with it?

Cotto has beaten Zab Judah and eeked out a decision over a 36yr old mosley. Give it time before you start comparing him to Tito. Tito's win over a prime Vargas is worth more than either one of those.

Tito, he never ran from anybody and if they fought Cotto wouldn't be able to take that left hook.

i dont think he's necisseraly better than tito, but if he DOES beat Margarito and Mayweather before calling hit quits, then no doubt his greatness will surpass Tito....but between these two, Tito will knock cotto out, no doubt, theyll trade hooks and whos hook is better?? Titos...so ...yeah..

To be honest I think that title still belong's to either Wilfredo Gomez or Wilfred Benitez. Both guys made a statement that nobody porbably could ever beat. The former is the best ever at 122, the latter is the youngest world champ ever. ANd both guys won three titles. The best part is both men fought bigger legends than Tito.

Tito is clearly the better fighter at this point.

I think some people are either too young to remember or suddenly have amnesia as to how Trinidad was an elite fighter.

There was a time period after the De la Hoya fight where Tito was just on such a roll that everyone thought that he'd steamroll his way through everybody. He took the challenges and the threats. Vargas, Reid, Joppy after that I was actually picking Trinidad to beat Bernard Hopkins so that he'd have the superfight with Roy Jones jr @ 168 (which I'm certain he would have lost).

The point is that at 147 after DLH fight (regardless of outcome) Tito showed that he was head and shoulders above his peers.

Cotto has not shown that. There is still Margarito, Cintron, Mayweather, Hatton, Paul Williams remaining. Very Deep division. His stock is up but he doesnt stand out as the best of the division whereas Trinidad.

    Felix Trinidad without question

I think a better question at the moment would be...

Which Puerto Rican fighter has the better resume: Edwin Rosario or Miguel Cotto?

    I still think Trinidad

I think trinidad wins head to head, and has greater accomplishments (duh.. cotto aint done yet)

i think cotto is a more complete fighter no doubt.... but when it comes down to it, tito is just greater.
