who would you rate higher in a h2h sense. In other words... which fighter would be better at beating a variety of styles.

Next question... if they fought 3 matches.. while both in their primes.. how do you see the series going?

Hard to say, both are very good, but Tunney has the size advantage and the better wins

    Hard to say.

Conn had by far the better precocious resume, but Tunney had the better run at their respective peaks.

Tunney was bigger, and likley better head to head, but Conn was better p4p.

Head to head, I might turn conventional wisdom on its head and pick Conn.

    Tunney for my money...

But Tommy Loughran beats them both either way!

Tunney was the better of the two. He hit harder, was bigger, smarter and more durable. Conn might have been a little quicker.

Eh, gotta disagree with you there, 'Doza. Conn fought many more big punchers than Tunney. His chin was tested much more severely than Gene's and as such, you must give him the durability nod.
