Both guys are dynamite and muti weight world champions. I called it even.

Whitaker had better defence (if only slightly) and Floyd has better offence and punching power.

    Even on ring generalship.

Result EVEN. It's stupid to put down either guy in anyway!

Whitaker, even though a defesive genious, actually makes a more entertaining fights than Mayweather. floyd i think is a bit more fundamentally sound, as a big part of Whitaker's defense is his athleticism. He's more into slipping and ducking punches; Mayweather blocking and parrying.

:good So did I. And I doubt anyone on here would or could put either of these two great fighters down. Defensively, "Sweet Pea" wins comfortably. Whitaker was also the first guy to drop Greg Haughen who was a tough guy and he also scored a knock-down on De La Hoya! But imo Floyd has got better offence and punching power. One thing is also notable but hardly ever mentioned, both guys were/are for all their skills tough mo-fo's!!

Me too. He made it look so....EASY. I dont see anyone in history beating Whitaker at 135-140.

Whitaker could beat mayweather with just a jab.

Knockdown was feet tangled but it is worth remembering that Pernell shook Tito once or twice in the 7th in his penultimate fight (after a lay off). He could really dig to the body.

    That's crazy chat!

I would maybe pick Pernell but he would need a lot more than a jab to win.

Wasnt feet tangled. Dlh slipped when he got hit. Eitherway its a legit knockdown. More legit then the point that was deducted from whitaker from an accidental headbutt. Never heard of the rule and havent seen it since.

Whitaker clearly. fought everyone and barely lost a round in his prime, his first clear loss come at 35 against Trinidad.

Was more impressive against a prime DLH than Fraud was against a way past it Oscar.

And unlike fraud when looking at Whitaker's career nobody says he ducked anyone.
