So are you giving Joe credit or not for coming to the States to fight Bhop at a new weight...regardless of how long it has taken him?

Also it is easy to say that about Lacey now isn't it.
I would be interested in your prediction before the fight.

Your view of Kessler is wrong and so is your view of that fight.
It is impossible to argue that Calzaghe didnt beat him comprehensively, but that's by the by....Calzaghe stepped upto the plate to fight a guy who was touted to knock him out.

No ****ing idea what Ali and Archie moore has to do with this but I am intrigued as to what you think about Hatton dodging Witter.

I'm not shitting on Hatton by the way but he is proving himself to be a whiney ***** by ruling out one of the most sensible fights out there.

Do I give credit to Calzaghe for coming to America to fight Hopkins.....well yeah I suppose so but only because it's so damn out of character for him to travel, however the choice of opponent is totally in character to anyone that's watched Calzaghes career to date. Calzaghe has been impeccably matched in every one of his fights, you can't knock Warren for that, Franks really good at making fights look interesting when in fact they ain't. Fights like this should have been happening for Calzaghe 8 years ago, but they didn't and I really can't be bothered to go over the reasons any more.

I'll admit I thought that Lacy would beat Calzaghe before they fought, but in hindsight I'd only seen Lacy fight a couple of times and one of those was against Reid who I thought beat Calzaghe years earlier - Lacy was impressive against Reid but lets face it Reid was shot to ****. Since he fought Calzaghe Lacy has looked like ****, that much can't be denied.

I disagree that Calzaghe beat Kessler comprehensively, it all depends on your definition of the word though I suppose. The Lacy win was comprehensive, the Kessler one....Kessler had his moments in that fight and I had it a close win for Joe, but not 'comprehensive'.

The Ali/Archie Moore comment was a flippant one aimed at the Calzaghe sack-swingers that seem to think if Calzaghe beats a 43 year old he automatically becomes the better fighter P4P, he doesn't. Hopkins name will look good on the record, like Moores name looked good on Ali's record but under closer analysis it won't mean **** to the educated eye.

As for Hatton dodging Witter, I've complained long and hard about this over the years, I think Hattons acting like a **** for not taking that fight, I suspect he knows he's going to lose. Hattons fighting in a much stronger division than Calzaghe, that much cannot be denied. As I said earlier, Hatton at 29 jumped up 7lbs to fight the P4P number 1 in the world, yes he lost but he had the bollocks to give it a try and took his defeat like a man. Calzaghe could have done exactly the same thing years ago when Jones was P4P king but chose not to, and I think it's pretty obvious as to why - in his heart of hearts he knows that he'd have got brutalised.

Nice to know I hit the spot sometimes, even with people that think I'm an idiot :rofl

Can I just point out though that most of my anti-Klit stuff is jokes and deliberate wind-ups, I don't actually dislike the Klits as people. What I do dislike is the Klit fans that make stupid excuses for WALDO's losses and in the next breath call Lewis 'glass chinned'. WALDO and VITLAY are both decent enough sorts, I've got no beef with either of them.

I've watched him most of his career, since maybe 5 fights before he fought Eubank and was proclaimed as the next best thing in British boxing.....he beat Eubank and I became a big fan, because (watch the fight) he took some monstrous shots from Eubank in the latter rounds of that fight, I was impressed, REALLY impressed and liked Calzaghe from the off.

Then he clutched that WBO belt to his chest and refused to risk it under any circumstances.....I waited, and waited, and waited for this guy to step up and prove his worth - and by the time he did, I didn't give a **** any more. Calzaghe ain't no warrior, he's a *****, and I'll keep calling it like it is, **** those huggers :good

Calzaghe got bigger after the Lacy fight with so called experts like Bunce (PMSL) and McGuigan (who obviously takes back-handers to talk like he does) but to people who actually study fights and styles, his stock didn't raise at all. It raised after Kessler because he took shots without being KO'd but that's about it. I said the same in another thread about Jones who is considered glass chinned yet is a natural 160lb fighter and only got KO'd when he went up to heavyweight and came down again at an advanced age. The Calzaghe lovers would like to have you believe that despite being knocked down a couple of times at 168 by BUMS Calzaghe has a better chin than Roy

**** it, I can't even be bothered to point out how ridiculous that is any more.

Right on!:good Calzaghe is talented fighter, but whats talent if you rarely test against good fighters such as himself. I feel Calzaghe pissed away the majority of his career calling himself champ, while holding a lame WBO title for nearly 10 years. He only now is making up for lost time, by fighting a past his prime Hopkins who is 43, proves almost nothing to most fight fans, and it only puts one of the very few good names on his resume.

Hatton isn't a loser. He lost to Floyd Mayweather, but wasn't the first and certainly won't be the last.

Frank Bruno always blew it at the top level.
