Mosley has fallen off in terms of public perception. I'm not saying that people viewed Floyd vs Mosley the same way they view Pac vs Mosley. I never said that. All I said is that Mosley that fought Floyd is pretty much the same Mosley in terms of ability that's fighting Pac. He's just 1 year older. It's not like he forgot how to fight all of a sudden is it? Fact is more time passed between Mosley-Margarito and Mosley-Mayweather than between Mosley-Mayweather and Mosley-Pacquiao. As for the PPV comparison, I used similar opponents, under similar circumstance. Both Mexicans, both about 4/1 underdogs. It's a more accurate comparison than Mosley fighting Mayweather off his performance against Margo, and Mosley fighting Pacquiao off his performance against Mora.
Clottey vs Pacquiao was a last minute agreement, little promotion to it, no 24/7. Mayweather vs Mosley had a huge promotion behind it, was a fight that was brewing for nearly a decade. Also, Mosley's name is alot more recognizable than Clottey's. Not even comparable. Margarito and Marquez have similar fanbases. Mosley and Clottey do not.
How many excuses are you going to come up with in one thread? My Mosley-Clottey comparison is about as abitrary as your Margo-Marquez one. Here is the one and only relevant fact to this discussion: Mayweather does better PPV numbers in the US than Pacquiao. Is Pacquiao a bigger global superstar? Sure. Does he have a bigger fanbase? Hell yea. These are the arguments you should be hanging your hat on instead of PPV numbers which clearly favor Floyd.
actually, Pac has more PPV sales in the USA than Floyd. if you don't believe me, add em up yourself you talk about excuses. Ok. Let's leave all the reasons aside. Who has more PPV sales in the USA, Pacquiao or Floyd? the answer is Pacquiao.
Pac's sold about 700k more buys than Mayweather despite double the amount of fights on PPV. Are you just trying to wind me up or are you really arguing this? Let's find some common ground because we are never going to agree on anything Pac-Mayweather. I personally believe that Quebec has the best looking women in the world and I've visited something like 40 countries. Now it's your turn to say something nice about Toronto or Ontario :hey
I would say right now Pacquiao is bigger. Before Floyd retired after Hatton I would say he was bigger then Manny but after Manny's rise through the weights that would tip it in his favour
there you go, excuses. the bottom line is that Pacquiao has more PPV sales than Floyd. You complain about excuses, but then you use excuses. When I try to explain to you why you can't compare Floyd vs Mosley numbers to Pac vs Mosley numbers as if they were fought in the same context, you say I'm using excuses. It's bull****.
Not like it matters. Although since the mtv generation came here boxing apparently is a popularity contest. Anyhow 2.4 Million PPVs dont lie end of thread
Pac for sure. Pac is just as known as Mayweather in the US.... so clearly all over the world it's Pac.
Mayweather is more well known. All the women knows him, all the security guards knows him, all the law enforcement knows him, all the lawyer knows him, everybody knows him....and it's not even closed.
I don't care if Floyd is a big star. You're the one claiming that Pacquiao is the bigger PPV attraction and I'm simply correcting you. Pacquiao is the bigger "superstar", fine and who gives a ****. If Pac was the bigger PPV attraction, I'd say that he is. I really don't care either way but I find it half frustrating/half amusing when people like you refuse to give credit where it's due out of some weird hatred, probably with yourself more than anything. Yes, Pacquiao has sold more PPV's overall than Mayweather, about 7.5-6.8. Mayweather averages 970k per fight and Pacquiao averages 625k per fight. Pacquiao has only exceeded Mayweather's average in 3 of his 13 PPV fights. How are you going to spin that?
