Of all the fighters in the middleweight division, who do you think could be the "Buster Douglas" who could score an astonishing upset over GGG? Do you think there's a sleeper out there who could out of nowhere put in a career best performance like the real Buster did and make all the right moves, hit all the right buttons and astonish the boxing world?

You can't compare GGG to Tyson.

I'm really not doing that. What I an asking is if anyone out there in middle-weight land can do the "impossible" vs GGG. I am distinctly aware that GGG and Tyson are not anything alike. Forget about that. GGG is his own unique monster of a fighter...nothing resembling Tyson. I'm only asking if anyone thinks there's someone out there who can upset him with their very best effort. I'm using Douglas-Tyson as a sort of metaphor, if you will.

Nobody currently at middleweight, but Alvarez, Lara, Andrade, or Mayweather have a chance. If James Kirkland scores an upset win over Saul Alvarez, people are going to be looking at him with new eyes and then wondering about GGG too. He's got the power with his 85% knockout rate. I can see that fight going something like Hagler vs Mugabi.

As for the middleweight division, Lemieux is a hype job. Korobov has no chin. People are calling Lee a destroyer based off of his last two performances but his track record suggests that he has good but not great power. Cotto is a lucky blown up welterweight. Martinez is damaged goods. Taylor is old and has bleeding on the brain, so he shouldn't even be boxing. Murata covers up too much when pressured, which GGG is certain to do. And I haven't seen enough to form an opinion on Chudinov or Saunders.

No one at middleweight but I wouldn't be shocked if @ 168 Bernard schooled him and knocked him out late.

Buster was thought of being a very good athlete, but big time slacker, he excelled in other sports in high school and his community college. Aside from losing fights he really wasn't supposed to, being a hot and cold fighter, dedicating the fight to his mom who recently had passed away brought out the best in him. So it'd have to be a greatly talented fighter, but pretty unpredictable. Unstoppable on his best nights and very beatable on others. I don't think there's anyone that really fits that description, Kirkland might come closest, but he's not nearly half as talented as Douglas was. Maybe we haven't seen the best of Kirkland? We know in a toe to toe battle he's a beast, but there's always room for improvement.

The other aspect here is that Buster shure had a lot of help from Tyson not showing up primed to fight.

not even the slightest chance in hell, not only is there NO ONE at mw that than can compete with Trip G, there isn't anyone at 168 that could upset the applecart.

and I whole heartedly agree. you cannot compare the mental midget in Tyson with a great very tough, mentally Tyson whole game was very weak due to having a 100% bully mentality , Tyson had gifts that could've been used to their greatest strength but all that ended up happening was Tysons weakest part just kept getting weaker and weaker from lack of training and lack of quality performances inside the ring.

trip G has NO weakn part of his fight game

Tyson was ranked #1 p4p in 1989, kinda hard to compare an equivalent situation. I would probably agree with the Kirkland ****ogy as being closest.

Need some Don King and gold digger Givens first before you can get to the 2nd coming of Buster Douglas.
