Morales is still whipping on young hungry lions and took maidanas soul. Barreras still living off the gift he got in the morales rematch

Don`t you think Morales deserves to have the honour of 1st Mexican in 4 weights ?... taking on board he was already denied it by a bad decision in the Diaz fight.
Forget the fact its the 140 lbs title, I`m talking strictly `being the 1st Mexican to win a world title in 4 weights` he should already have that honour, no ?

I agree, fight 2 proved that IMO.

Even still, I thought Morales won 2 of the 3 fights, he`s just a better overall fighter.. Barrera is better at sticking to a gameplan tho, if you hit Erik with a good shot he just says **** it & goes right for your heart... but thats 1 of the reasons he is so loved so no complaints ;)

    :good

Morales did it all for the fans. Going south paw with Pac. LOL that's just insane. There will never be another like him.

    Again, it's debatable.

Erik Morales falls into that bracket of popular, blue-collar fighters who enjoy ridiculous support and adulation among the hardcore fans. Roberto Duran and Joe Frazier are similar. This can cause close fights, which could effectviely be scored either way, to suddenly turn into robberies. The Barrera rematch is a good example of this. The David Diaz and Marcos Maidana fights were relatively close, especially the latter, and yet all of a sudden Morales was on the end of two "robberies". I don't see it that way.

The following comments are so absurd they don't really warrant a response.

MAB hit Erik because of what Erik said before the fight. Why the double standard?

Watched the second fight again. MORALES won 7 rounds. Barrera looked disappointed after the fight. When they announced the decision, MAB seemed to agree with the two points differential, he knew he lost. He didn't even ****ing really celebrate. **** that decision.

Their three fights were close. The fact they didn't like each other made these fights even closer. EM might trade just to hit MAB when he may have normally tried to box. Regardless, their trilogy was great and to say one was suPerior is a lie.

EM was handed the WW title by greedy promoters, so please don't use that in comparing these two.

The best comparison is probably in their fights with PAC. MAB got a severe beatdown first time round while El Terrible won. Second time MAB closed uP shop to survive while PAC eventually caught up with EM's bravado.

IMO Morales has achieved more and is the better fighter, but they are both great warriors with little separating them.

Yes, insane and that round may have caught up with him in the second fight where he was stopped. It was plain dumb bravado and unnecessary.

    But did you like it?
Morales was burnt out by the second fight. Really don't think that last round had much to do with it.

He hit Morales with a sneaky punch (just like he did Kennedy Mckinney a few yrs before) then ran lke a ***** as soon as Morales started throwing back.

I had Barrera sweeping the trilogy. As such, I've got him as the greater fighter.
