Canelo has more power, but skillls? No. Canelo ate a whole buffet of jabs from GGG. He’s been outboxed by Mayweather and GGG. He wish he had Usyk’s footwork.
One is an elite mobile boxer and the others an elite counterpuncher with power. I imagine people would favor whichever style they preferred to watch. Neither pick is wrong here.
Canelo is more explosive & flashy, but Usyk is the better tactian with the better Jab, Ring IQ & Ring Generalship.
Both great boxers with their own strengths and weaknesses. Canelo is better in the pocket, better body puncher etc. But overall Usyk is superior, his footwork is the best in the game, he like Canelo can use great head movement to draw leads and create openings but he can also use his lead hand to do this. He mesmerises opponents with his lead hand and then hits them with the left when all they are focused on is his lead hand.
What Canelo does he does very well. He is an extremely well drilled fighter with excellent head movement, concussive power and fast punching. However Usyk also has good head movement, speed and decent power. What really sets Usyk apart is his foot speed and lightness of movement. Canelo is more like a heavy tank, rumbling forward and looking to blow you away with big shells. Usyk plays with distance, angles of engagement and timing. As a result his system of fighting is technically unorthodox and looser, but thanks to his timing and speed, more effective.He's like a fighter-bomber, coming in from behind the sun to strafe you from an oblique angle.
Canelo all the way. Better traps, better punch variety, better counter punching, better defense, better timing etc.. Usyk has better footwork. Usyk is the most technical fighter in CW and HW divisions but Canelo is another level.
Canelo is an amazing talent tarnished by his drug /ped use. Different styles. Usyk has that loma ess dart side to side foot movement. Canelo has classic style he can get his shots in variety of ways pressure and off a counter. He has all the kit of punches in bunches or 1-2 punch KO power bone breaking shots.Usyk has better feet for a cruiser weight though.
For technical skills only Loma competes with Usyk IMO But even there, I now have Usyk as top dog, he was truly sublime last night
