I considered it 5. The Lineal with MAB win is his Greatest win. It can't be ignored.

I guess the argument is Over!!! Pac is definitely The Greatest Asian Fighter Of ALL time!!! Only the Blind cant see that!!!

Hey if there was an 115 pound weightclass, and an 122 pound weight class Harada would have held titles in them weightclasses too, and he would have done it facing the best those divisions had to offer - unlike Pac. :good

Pac may very well be the greatest Asian fighter. But you nuthuggers refuse to take into consideration that he has benifitted from day before weigh ins, multiple weight classes and 4 recognized world title organizations. Fighters like Harada and Pancho Villa were never given these concessions. Now I don't blame Manny, and I do think he is great, but the fact is this is a watered down era of boxing. Think about it, 17 divisions with a total of 68 belts to be won. Its much easier today to win a world title and to do it at different weights, compared to 8 recognized divisions with 1 belt (later on 2), don't you think? So whoever you think is greater, there is a lot more to take into consideration than just wins, losses and the opposistions record. Another thing to keep in mind is there was not a lot of film (nothing like today) to view your opponent before a fight. You may have prepared one way only to find out he fights a whole other style. I think this is true especially in Villa's day. Anyway you look at it, Manny is great. Its just a lot closer than alot of you think and arguable who is best all day.

Pacman will probably end his career as the best asian fighter ever.

But he was Ring & lineal in 3 beating the fighters considered the best in each division. Sasakul, MAB & JMM. Even Ledwaba was very highly rated at 122 at the time of fighting him. David is the first paper belt Pac has won and this seemed nothing more than a tune-up evident by the fact they just seemed to look past him.

    lol at the "IF"

If pac didnt skip 115 and 118 then he should be a 7 time world champion in seven different weight class. lol

I think your claim about "if harada" is ****. :hi:

Like I said, I don't blam Pac for the era he fights in, and he may very well have done just as well in past era's with the circunmstaces I outlined. It would however have been much harder. Im not putting Pac down, him and Cotto are actually my two favorite fighters to watch. What Im saying is, the fighters from the past shouldn't be so easily dismissed without understanding the era, circumstances and opposition. And I don't think a lot of the guys who have posted on this thread do. JMO.

I disagree slightly. The Lineal champ is not always considered the best fighter in the division. MAB and JMM were at 126 and 130. Kudos. But Sasakul was not at 112, Mark Johnson was by most, including Ring at the time.

Why? There was no possible way for Harada to have won that many belts given the conditions of the time he fought in, so for you to give Pacquiao credit for something Harada was unable to do in any possibility is "****". It all comes down to competition, which the majority of you fudge Packers(lol) don't seem to understand. Harada faced and beat the better competition, and yes, I and everyone else on this site are PAINFULLY aware of Pac's opposition, thank you.

    Playing Devils Advocate a bit....

Pacquiao CHOSE to skip those weights. For whatever reason. Harada didn't have the opportunity since the weight classes didn't exist.

Its always been impossible to objectively and equally compare title reigns across eras in such a way.

    Ok....seriously.

Do you think that a poster named "Sweet Pea" idolized JMM, Morales, or MAB? Think about that a bit.

Pac will never be given proper credit here in esb as long as he is still fighting... Pac will probably get legendary status 10 years from now.

Keep fighting. Harada is better than you guys think. It's not all about stats. Different sport in his time.

Pacquiao is in the conversation. As is Harada, Elorde, and even Villa.
