They share much more than only their birthday !

    Both

    - talk more than they fight
    - have little on their resume
    - are passionated actors
    - choose their opponents carefully

We only can wait that both GOATS touch glooves in the ring , i hope we will see it !

I shouldn't have said struggled - Louis is obviously a legend and a top 10 HW of all time. He'd have been an incredible addition into that era which is head and shoulders above any other HW era, I just don't think he had the footwork and head movement to keep up with Ali or Patterson, or the chin to stay in there with Liston or Foreman.

Irrefutable logic here. Whilst I'm too young to have observed the first nuclear bomb, the moon landing, and the fall of the Berlin wall, I was born just in time to appreciate the art of Jake "Money" Paul, and for that I thank god.

What ability did Ali have that the others there didn’t have?

That wasn’t prime Chavez at welterweight in 92. Chavez at lightweight against Rosario in 87 was Chavez at his best. Whitaker was at his best at lightweight as well.

Yeah JL's footwork was pretty straightforward and pretty slow paced, but he often got himself in position to land extremely effective shots. I definitely can see your point though, and can envision those same scenarios.

The ability to beat more all time great heavyweights than anyone in history.

Debatable maybe anyone who came before, besides Louis, but plenty after would give him a hard fight

I'm definitely not saying they couldn't give Ali A Hard fight, but I believe Ali has the best record against the highest competition at heavyweight.

Also I think that Ali at his best, was capable of beating any heavyweight in history.

Arguably though its not clear how he would do against modern SHWs like Lennox and Wlad

Well nothing is clear in these scenarios, they are all fantasy and Imagination. We can't Clearly say Fighter A would absolutely beat Fighter B with total assurance, as these fights obviously have no chance of happening :boxing1

he won’t win the debate, but he’s earned the right to be in it.

the way I handle him is ask myself how he’d do in earlier eras. How would he do in the 40s or 50s? Yeah, he’d take a loss or two, that’s how it worked. But if you showed any of those guys film of him, not a single one of them would think “no problem I’ve got this”. The thought would be “well ****”.
