Every fighter in history is a cherrypicker then. Every single fighter in history had fights like Gatti, Forbes, Campas and Chavez. Not one fighter in history fought p4p top 10 guys every time they entered the ring. It's not possible. Having fights like these is necessary in a boxing career, of course it doesn't make someone a cherrypicker. You should stay off these threads, you're a time-waster.

But I think it's important to consider an entire career before you start labelling a fighter a "cherry picker".

Oscar has been guilty of this, as has most professional fighters of recent times, but on the grand scale of things, Oscar fought the best.

    I even forgot about Ike.

no i totally agree, he wasnt his whole career, very little i think, but to have that 2nd fight with chavez. that is the definition of cherry picking i think. but yes throughout the whole of his career he did generally fight the best.

I'm not saying Floyd wouldn't win, but I do think Mosley would give him a fight. Mayweather is small at ww, and De La Hoya's physical presence did limit Floyd in the first half of their fight. Mosley is freakishly strong, he rag-dolled the rock that was Margarito, and he has KO'd big strong lmw's like Vargas and Mayorga. Mosley's physicality would be a problem for Floyd. Could Floyd overcome this?? Yes, he probably could. But, it would draw on more of his skills to do so than the fights with Baldomir and Hatton etc. That was my point. If you don't think it would, fair enough.

the path of this thread is interesting. the definition of cherry picker is quite a bit different than usual but in looking at it as taking fights (regardless of difficulty) that you think you can win, DLH DID cherry pick once he became big. though they were some of the best mothers of their or any other time

    I agree.

That second Chavez fight should never have happened.

Dumb ass lol. This is a disgusting post by a degenerate who thinks he knows it all. You are one sorry individual, and that is how I will always treat you. Everyone here knows what a cherry picker is, yet you think it's great fighters choosing easy fights when they have been in tough fights. Every last fighter has not fought Ike quartey after Ike Quartey their whole career you disgusting *******!

NALLEGE wasn't talking complete ****, contrary to what DINAMITA thinks, but I don't agree with labeling Oscar a cherry picker.

He cherry picked occasionally, that's part of Boxing, but he stepped up to the mark more often than not.

Oscar should not be the subject of conversation in a thread entitled "Who is the greatest Cherrypicker of all time?"

Actually, 140+ means 140 plus, which means over 140, which would be 147, 154, and the impending 145 fight with JMM. Weights over 140.

However, then I remembered Tszyu, so I'll now change it to 140-154.

Dlh didn't duck those guys. Dlh was big, so making money with fighters who bring it style wise was cherry picking. Even without those names, Dlh's resume is superb!

agreed. but oscar really did get to choose his fights, more than anyone else in recent memory. his cherry picking was to fight the best of the time but he still had the choice.
