Watch film of Napoles slipping and weaving under punches, countering with hooks to the body, followed up with hooks and uppercuts to head and body, whilst weaving, slipping, rolling and ducking under retaliation shots.

That he was a counter puncher, yes, that is true ... but he was great at using defence to initiate his own brilliant combination punching offence. He was called Mantequilla for a reason ... smooth in all areas of the game.

Forgive my mistake, I thought that the subject was greatest combination puncher.

I’m of the opinion that Napoles was ELITE in his punch selection in combination. You can describe his style however you want - he was still an excellent combination puncher.

I’m not sure why you’re equating combination puncher to a specific style. RJJ was very aversive in his style after the Benn-McClellan fight and I’d still call him a proficient combination puncher. Pep was a great defensive fighter and you can still see him throwing excellent combinations when spinning his man with his back to the ropes.

I contend that Napoles was an excellent combination puncher whether being defensive or offensive - you disagree - fair enough.
